I have watched your videos (onboard in 11 minutes, beginners guide to msc yacht club, no plan no problem, and ocean cay yacht club way). They are all fantastic and informative. You mentioned a few times in a couple of videos that you would talk about how you bid for the yacht club and also things that happen behind the yacht club doors. Which videos are those in? We just bid and got upgraded to YV for an upcoming 3 night cruise (1st time in YC) and would love tho hear that informative. Let me know, and thank you for the great videos!

Thank you! Our explanation of how we got Yacht Club hasn’t been published yet, but… Basically, the short version is that we bid for an interior upgrade… and received a suite. We even lowered our bid a couple weeks before the cruise… ha! ☺️ Our video about the misconceptions we had and our total recap video (3 things we like/3 things we didn’t… we call it “The 3x3”) are the last ones we publish in the series. So you’ll see them in a few weeks. Hope that helps a little! 🙂

Hey guys, one thing which I realized is, we spent in may 2023 on the msc seascape +$14000 for our yacht club owners suite and when we arrived at ocean cay and got transported to the yacht club area, that the beach is full of rocks in the water, the non yacht club guests have a nice sand beach, yacht club guest need to wear water shoes….🤔🤔🤔 but ocean cay will close down for 6 weeks next year and one project is on the msc agenda, to extend the yacht club area, bigger restaurant with way more sitting options and clean up the rocks in the water….. absolutely great videos, we love to watch your vids….greetings from Florida……😉

The YC Restaurant and menu looks really awesome and we can't wait for that, But great googah MOOGAH that beach looks like all rocks! Like Charlie Brown's Beach (I got a rock!) 🤣 We are really looking forward to your 3x3 (BAM!) on the YC experience, as we have noticed some things already that would be a Hit for us and others that would be a miss for us.

Ha! There are a lot of rocks (as you said, Charlie Brown would definitely/sadly feel right at home🙂). The far side of the Yacht Club beach is a little better… still has some rocks, but much more sandy areas… we didn’t realize that until the end of the day. 😕 The Yacht Club food, wherever we had it, never disappointed. Mmmm, mmm! Thanks!… and the 3x3 is a’comin!!! 🤪😊🤪

I loved the Yacht Club section of Ocean Cay. It was a great beach day. Just make sure to bring water shoes as the beach is really rocky.

If my choices are an oceanview (not beachfront) cabana in the Yacht Club area or a cabana in the main area where the beach isn't as rocky, which would you recommend?

We’d pick Yacht Club. It’s is rock’ier there (note: on the Yacht Club beach closer to the ship, it gets a little less rocky). Bring some water shoes, watch your step, and enjoy being pampered in the Yacht Club area! However, you probably can’t go wrong anywhere on Ocean Cay… it’s the best!!!

I have a a daughter who can’t stay in the sun all day. Their cabanas look pretty reasonable. Do you know anything about them ?

They are pretty standard cabanas, but with the added Yacht Club level of service. Everyone in Yacht Club gets free food and drinks, but with the cabanas you’ll get the food delivered and we do believe you’ll have fresh fruit/snacks in the cabana also. They include snorkels and floating mats at the cabana as well. Please note that they are renovating over a three month period beginning in April… so we aren’t sure what/if that includes the cabanas in the Yacht Club. Hope that helps a little. 😊

Yes… absolutely bring some water shoes if you have them (there were folks who didn’t use them, but they walked very “delicately”🤪). Also good to note, the side closest to The Ocean House was more rocky than the far side of the Yacht Club beach. Thanks!!! 😊

Tip for everyone out there wanting a relaxing spot to camp out at the Yacht Club beach all day - splurge a little bit [more] and get yourself a beachfront cabana on the Yacht Club beach! They're not as nice as the cabanas at Castaway Cay (Disney Cruises), but they have great ocean views, they have a little cooler that your butler will stock with water, beer, and your favorite beach drinks all day. And it's a great place to eat lunch if Ocean House is crowded (or not).

Does the yacht club side have a roped area to keep sharks and big sea animals out like the light house beach has? 😊

It does not. They are free to swim anywhere they like. And they are present. We saw a big stingray this time and were told a nurse shark was around (we didn’t see it ☹️). Neither are considered dangerous at all. But if you aren’t comfortable with them, stay close to shore (10-15 feet) or you’ll have to go to Lighthouse Beach if you want to swim further out. 😀

The Yacht Club is a rocky beach… we’ve heard rumors that they plan on addressing that when they close it for a $100 million renovation in April/May this year. 🤞
