Impressive you can make that box in a day. Great reason for a laser. Planning my workshop layout now. Will allow room for a laser now. Routing MDF is messy and dusty, lasering seems less toxic, even allowing for smoke and bouncing laser beams.

I have a jtech 7w attachment to my CNC that I tried once. When I ordered it I thought that I would use it to cut an engrave different stuff but after screwing up on the first try an forget to zero my home/start position which resulted in that the machine went to unexpected start position and fired the laser right into my spoilboard and hit a metal screw reflecting back under my glasses I realized that if I want a laser it should be full enclosed. Haven't used it since but my eye was irritated for 2 weeks but no permanent damage as I know about.

Another great video. I keep looking at diode lasers, but then keep reminding my self, I have a 100w co2 laser and the only reason I would want a diode would be to etch metal. So I then end up on the other thought train of you get what you pay for and I should get the big boy fibre laser. 💰💰💰💰💰

Right now I am working on improving my stamina as with my muscle disorder I don't know how much I will get to see.

I think you an amazing creator and very honest. I had the same question about the company and I will purchase mine through Amazon. What do you recommend? I need speed for classroom projects. I only cut 3mm and 5mm plywood. I engrave anything that can engrave. Would X30 Pro be a be good classroom laser? I can handle the ventilation.

Is yours 40w laser or 40w total? My 40w laser burns through 3mm as its nothing on 1 cut. I did some 8mm the other day but that i did 4 runs so it didnt burn so much.

Knowing how many Chinese companies work, your confusion might be explained by the assumption, that those are competing sales groups within the same company, all trying to keep the customer to themselves and maybe gain a bonus on sales.

lightburn isn't a one time payment. If you want updates you have to pay again after awhile.. But you can still use your un updated version and use it forever. But it puts up a nag screen every time you start it to update. Then it says the update is pay only.

Hello. Wondering if you know of a product I saw on youtube. It's like a pillow (in this case it was blue) that's about a little smaller than a fist. They are used as spacers/protection when cutting something on your work table. I've looked in many places but haven't found any. You probably need about 20. As I understood, they do not damage the saw blade if you are sawing in a "pillow". Regards // hakan

@CrisAnderson27 Жыл бұрын
Not building an enclosure for any laser, much less a 30w laser...is just irresponsible. I mean, this is a cool, comprehensive video...but all it takes is one person walking in...or you forgetting glasses etc...and you've taken a chunk out of the lifespan of your eyesight. They're cheap, easy to build, and will save your eyes and lungs. Even coming close to recommending not using one to the 55k viewers of this video is just ridiculous.

The answer: non of them are Atomstack….and they all are. They are likely all dealers and the core machine is made by a Chinese manufacturer that may have a presence in the Chinese market, but to market to the west, they probably created a brand that would better appeal to the west. Also, it probably absolves them of liability if you have an accident.
@cheapskate8656 Жыл бұрын
In my experience, this is the way Ali works. All the sellers are mostly individuals with a business name. The sell products from one or more factories. They sort out exactly what you want and then the manufacturer ship it to them and then they ship it to you. So, they are all official agents for the factory. Since this may be the only way the factory sells its goods, they are all official. The problem is of course that the service is only as good as the individual and their relationship with the factory. Sometimes they are amazing, other times, not so hot.

Hello :) Did you have the chance to test the Emblaser 2 (made by Darkly Labs, the editor of Lightburn) ? I am a bit surprised that you consider that about 1200 dollars is expensive when the Emblaser costs about 300 euros here for the 5W version and 3500 euros for the 10W version. (Without going into much details, I got the first version 5 years ago but had an issue because the delivery company dropped it on the ground and something broke later on when I could finally unpack it and use it only 1 year ago). I was happy with the results of this laser cutter. I am about to buy a new one but I am now a bit confused by all reviews I have seen on other brands because they are cheaper but nobody ever reviewed what I need: cutting very tiny little pieces in carton and paper for scale modeling at scale 1/320 ... Have a niec day ! :)

I’m very new to this, in fact I didn’t know these existed. I’m just wondering, am I able to put any wood under this? Do I just set the height of the laser to suit the height of the wood?
@CrisAnderson27 Жыл бұрын
Most any wood. They all have their quirks...walnut likes to char and catch fire as an example, but you can work around that (I've made beautiful pieces out of walnut even with that issue). There's a whole learning curve to using these though...and computer/graphic design skills are going to be critical for anything beyond engraving pictures or text onto wood shapes. That said, Lightburn (the main program available) isn't hard to get going in, and there's a number of resources for info on how to use it (including a dedicated forum and facebook group). Add to that that KZbin is no slouch in the resource department, and there's no reason not to try if you have general interest and the funding.

Very cool content, you are clearly talented and care about quality … so I think you should know there is something off in your audio settings that is hard to describe, like plosives but due to a setting, perhaps the gate or limiter cutting a frequency your voice uses. It’s consistent enough for you to easily hear and deal with
