So excited to find this video. I'm moving to a brand new home next month and plan on transforming it. So happy I'm not the only one who wants a cozy home with old-fashioned character. Love detail. You did a great job! 💖

Thank you so much! I'm glad you found it as well. I think everyone deserves to have that old charm even if they don't live in an old house. Good luck on your journey!

@@CapturingWonderland Thank you! I orginally looked for an older home but could not find what I wanted in the right location. I decided location was more important so buying a new home was it! 💖

@@allymonte7295 I understand. We did the same thing! Purchased our home at the time because the location was what we needed. Thankfully we can infuse old charm in a lot of different ways.

30!!! Nice! You are correct about builder-basic-good for you.

Thank you! I think I could have made the list longer, haha. You basically look at photos of any homes built in the prime of craftsmanship and you would see how they took pride in their detail work and it showed. There weren't any two houses the same...

@@CapturingWonderland So true. Though I could tell the work of some of the builder's my old neighborhood! My Dad was a mechanical engineer and he drew up the plans, with Mother's 'asjs' incorporated in them all. He had foresight. In our 2 story brick Cape Cod, he thought ahead and put in duct snf large pipework so as to one day put in whole house air conditioning! We lived there for years before they even got a window unite for the back part, which was the kitchen, breakfast area, large pantry, storage under stairs, family room with gigantic closer and built in's/. And we are in the deepSouth. Thy did put in an aria fan- or as people call them now, a whole house fan. That, I believe, was a bit later, too. I was 5 when we moved in and I can still remember watching the bricklayers buttering the whole bricks to build with. then, some 50 years later, just a few years ago a tornado came through nd landed right on that house and one on either side. That house that Daddy built had some minor damage in one small corner on the top, mainly where a tree had scraped it. Built to last!! I was proud!

@@ts-eu6mp wow, that's absolutely amazing! My Dad was a general contractor and I watched very similar things in my childhood.

@@CapturingWonderland No wonder we have great tress in these things. My typing was awful on my reply, I meant my Mother's "asks" and some other things didn't come out right. I get my fingers o the wrong keys to start with because they have mostly worn away- sorta like me! lol

Some really nice ideas in your video, thanks for that! But I do feel compelled to let you know (since I would like someone to let me know if it were me) that you are mispronouncing the word “epitome”. It should be “ih-pit-uh-mee”, with the stress on the second syllable. 👍
@CapturingWonderland10 ай бұрын
Haha I actually know that. This is an early video and it was when I was still not super comfortable on camera and even now I will often mispronounce words because my brain has a fart. Or forget what I'm saying. 😂😂 I'm glad you enjoyed my ideas.
