Love your trim. Can I just add that I loved watching your son following your lead with his own tape measure. Such a great job teaching him some amazing skills! 👏 💜

You're very welcome! Good luck switching out your trim! It's a lot of work, but it is so beautiful when it's finished.

I love it !!! Wow I wish I knew how to use a saw great job 👏🏼

Thank you very much! I was so scared to learn how to use saws 😂. Which is weird considering my Dad built our homes in Hawaii by hand as a general contractor. But to use it yourself can be scary... But you get comfortable with use. You just have to start! It's super empowering and I recommend it to everyone.

Thank you so much! That is one of my favorite mirrors. The minute I saw it in the thrift store I grabbed it and went to pay for it. Definitely one of those things I didn't even think about haha.

Installing Farmhouse molding (cheap alternative to Crown Molding). Using 2 boards, one against wall abuts board attached to ceiling. PROBLEM: Stud finder does great finding wall studs for vertical (wall) boards, but how to find ceiling joists to attach horizontal boards that lie flat on ceiling? Our popcorn ceilings & PVC Ceiling Tiles aren't helping. We want to attach ceiling boards to more than "just drywall" up there.

That's a great question. I've not gotten to the point of installing crown molding yet but I know a KZbinr that did that style on her channel, her name is Megan Bell. Let me see if I can find that video link for you. And good luck!!
hahaha, this video is old so I don't remember what I said. But it could very well be! I often mean to say one thing and then say another. My bad!

What did you use to paint these? If you remember😅

I paint all my trim (so far) the same thing so it's easy to remember lol. I use paint and primer by behr in white dove.

I actually haven't done a reveal yet! I'm still working on the flooring and the faux rock backer of my pot belly stove. But it is coming soon!

In your video, the angle of your camera . Does not show the wood work above your window. The change is not obvious to me. I have very traditional woodwork. I ‘d like to relax

Not really sure what any of that comment means lol. I had zero trim above or below or around my windows before this process. So it went from no trim to trim.
