@jamesrav

very true about the quote and current state. Yesterday I watched a YT where Richard Dawkins tried to explain his use of the word 'ignorant' when describing people, saying it was not really a put down. He said he was ignorant about a great many things, but I think his attempt to soften his statement comes up weak. The definition is pretty clear, and it's not the same as 'unenlightened'. Einstein was correct.

@@onlythewise1 I would rather see more wild animals. Animal agriculture is a leading cause of biodiversity loss due to deforestation. The Amazon is being burned to graze cattle and to grow soy. 70% of soy is used for farm animal feed. Today's cows, pigs and chickens are genetic freaks caused by selective breeding that favored traits that would maximize profits. They couldn't survive in the wild. Instead of cows, I want to see more American Bison. Instead of pigs, wild boar. Instead of chicken, pheasants. The wolves in the contiguous US were killed off to protect cattle and sheep raised for profit. Bring back wolves and other predators to keep the populations in check and return balance to nature.

The sentence is out of context. For Albert Einstein also criticized the Pacifists and the Good ones who do nothing. In other phrases, choose him. Out of context, in the sense that the phrase is for problems you can't solve, certain actions are much more motivated by emotion than they are necessarily a solution. Once Albert Einstein believed in the idea of social justice, and the idea that good people need to stop evil from prevailing. However, this is already in the sense that if you can prevent evil, prevent it, if it is irrelevant ignore it. And in this part, there's a detail: Normally, we won't deal with bad people very bad, such people we can just call the police and justice, however, normal people who are just toxic, arrogant, narcissistic or problematic, those you ignore. That's the context. There are people taking this context and playing in a GTA game, man, back to real life, how many people did you kill today? In fact, no one needs to take justice into their own hands, they have justice, they have the police. Extrajudicial cases, such as communication problems, you ignore. That's what Albert Einstein is talking about. Apart from that, the idea that just fighting is the solution is stupid, in my reality I see two things: In certain situations, a person can be old, a woman, while your enemy can be someone armed, a criminal faction, the state itself and the army, there is no such thing as fighting. So playing video games and movies too much, the phrase is not a fiction phrase, it's for reality. Don't use film as the context for a philosophical sentence. The real world is different from movies, no one is bullet proof, no one is invincible, no one is favored by all circumstances, we are human in a society. On Albert Einstein's Other Criticism: He criticized the Pacifists for doing nothing. For him, the right pacifists are those who fight for peace, not those who defend peace by doing nothing. While pacifists let the Nazis and the Japanese make holocausts, it was people with the knuckles who cleaned the world of filth. Too much goodness becomes a problem when you start to allow evil to flourish. The same goes for the good, Albert Einstein defined that the world is not bad because of the bad, but because of the good ones that do nothing. Note then that you don't have this Jesus syndrome of accepting slaps in the face, but that we can't win everything. And this is very obvious in the fact that Albert Einstein did not decide to stay in Germany killing Nazis. Like the comments below makes it look easy. Come back to reality. Defend the good but also your physical integrity, don't commit suicide, that's stupid. It's not because something is right, that we're going to start jumping in the middle of gangs, army and try to win in moral legitimacy. The real world is ruled by force. Values always go hand in hand with strength. One is nothing without the other. The most intelligent, wisest and surest philosopher in Rome was impaled on a spear, because his truth was a threat to the Roman Emperor. What good is it right if you'll be dead? Of course, Socrates and Galileo left a legacy... You choose, but we have to know when it's right to be a martyr and when it's not. When it is, because there are times when death is one of the worst of the problems, especially when denying a place means hurting the legacy, the image and the values you believe in. He's just like the bullied nerd, he'd rather live like a failure than bleed a little for honor. I myself always fought, and every blood was worth it because I was always respected for that. In fact, I have stature, I do exercise and weight training. But respect is not free. The same goes for justice. There is no spontaneous justice. You need to enforce your justice and claim your rights or others will exploit you. I myself preferred not to pick fights with criminal factions, when I saw injustice, but the police were already doing their job in this. Another case of intelligence. You only fight fights you can win, the rest ignore and avoid them. That's what ignore means. -- Be smart, the human being only got here because he knew how to survive, and he knew when it was time to sacrifice himself. The caveman had to know when to run from predators, and when it was time to give their blood together for something more important than their own lives, and fights to defeat a threat that would surely cost the lives of some. The same is true of war, war is an act of intelligence, because although in fact some die, the greater cause is more important. (I don't know nowadays, I'm talking about existential reason wars, not this political dirt) Dirty Wars is an example of a cause to be ignored. For while there are wars of self-preservation and defense, which have legitimate motives, there are wars that have nothing to do with those who lose their lives in them, often losing their lives for free. In that case, stay away from this war is the best, because it's not your cause, it has nothing to do with you. Don't take a fight that isn't yours, otherwise you will sacrifice for nothing. Other than that, where are the machines? The US should have already made machine armies to save human lives. (Sorry, I digressed, I just expressed my thoughts on the matter)

If you forgot what you learned in school, then what remains isn't education, but a realization that you wasted your childhood in school. But then again, that's what school is, a taxpayer funded system of babysitters that watch your children for several hours while you're off at work. Anyways, an overwhelming majority of the human population are morons, and these morons are impressed by a goofball like Einstein. Einstein was good at mathematics, and THAT WAS IT. "Weak people revenge. Strong people forgive. Intelligent people ignore." I have always been stalked and haunted by bullies. I was taught to speak up but never did so because intuitively I knew that the best thing for my soul was to ignore it. I always questioned this and asked myself if maybe I was just a coward that didnt want to face the problem. But seeing this quote I realised I was right all along. The reason that it is the right approach is because it is the only one where you dont lose any time on thr enemy but continue on your path, leaving him alone without him even realising. It takes wisdom to immediately spot a person unworthy of your energy.

An old Cherokee chief sat down to teach his grandson about life. “There’s a fight going on inside me,” he tells the young boy, “a fight between two wolves.” “One wolf is evil. It’s full of malice, anger, greed, self-pity and false pride. The other is good. It’s full of peace, love, joy, kindness, and humility.” “This same fight is going on inside you and everyone else on the face of the earth.” The grandson was quiet, pondering this revelation for a moment before asking, “Grandfather, which wolf will win?” The old man smiled and replied, “The one you feed.” Moral of the story: Good and evil exist within each of us. It’s our responsibility to own that reality and do whatever we can to nurture the good.

" only thing, I could never call him stupid. Some people can call themselves stupid, simply because they know that they're not.

Veganism is not popular, but it is right. "Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet." -Einstein Today, he would be vegan.

Socrates said "The true Wisdom is in recognizing our own ignorance."

@@someguy2135 , I'm forced to agree- as an artist, draftsman, sculptor, etc. I thought that I knew something, but seeing now in my later years that I'm fascinated with software engineering, and robotics, knowing virtually nothing about them, I can see what Socrates meant.

These are my favorites. “Imagination is the highest form of research” - Albert Einstein “Weak people revenge. Strong people forgive. Intelligent people ignore” - Albert Einstein “Try not to become a man of success. Rather become a man of value” - Albert Einstein “Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere” - Albert Einstein

@@me12-17 You are totally missing the point. Imagine someone say the most offensive thing ever to you, say about your mother or someone very close to you, You have 3 x choices. Get revenge on that person by saying something back just as offensive or, you can forgive that person for what he/she said or you can ignore it and move on. Come on man its not that difficult to understand what he meant........

Not an Einstein quote, but one which has refused to leave me since i heard it..."Everything that you take for granted, somebody else is praying for." Nothing earth shaking, nor is it from a Nobel prize winner, but a wonderful reminder (especially in the current world-climate) of the importance of gratitude for what you have. 'Wise words' indeed. Love and angel blessings to you all x
