As mentioned in the video, Dustin Johnson might not consider his grip very strong, as it clearly seems to work well for him and how his body wants to swing and interact with the golf club. It's us that surround language with the terminology that sometimes can prevent us from exploring other options in our game and our golf swing.
We went through a whole lot more here than just grip and I'd like to say a huge thank you to Mark for letting us share his lesson experience with you guys!

This teaching style needs to be taught to every current and aspiring teacher. It’s so good. Marcus, you said something that used to hamper my strikes: thinking about hitting the ball. I no longer do that, because all it did was destroy my strike. Now, all I think about is my trigger move that swings the club and making sure I make a full or complete swing. When I do this, my strike is superb. Thanks.

That's awesome, the ball becoming the main focus can (not always) present issues for us. Pleased to hear and thanks for the kind words!

This is my favorite instructional video so far...it made SO much sense to me. The part about 9 minutes into it was me! Using the levers makes all the other body movement way more natural. Went to the range last night...best range session ever. Even with my 7 iron as the ball flew off... i could "hear" the ball make the sound...you know that sound players like me NEVER hear? After about an hour I was hitting the ball further and more consistent than ever. Thanks Marcus...now I have to re-adjust my yardages...in a good way!

@@GRFGolf The Zen Team get people to completely rethink the golf swing, and get it in line with one's own muscular and skeletal build. I had a lesson with Sam last year (never received the video though), and it has helped me so much.

As always, great video Marcus 👍 Awesome to see Mark starting the Zen journey, he's going to be very pleased with it! FYI I played Newbury & Crookham GC on Monday in a comp and shot 33 pts with 6 blobs 😱 My Zen was there for 2/3rds of the holes (quaint, tricky track, well worth a visit). For those wondering whether to get a lesson from any of the Zen Team - do it! You will not be disappointed ⛳

Guys l am a year late but last weekend l tried the strong grip and oh my heck l was smacking the bee gees of the ball and picking them clean and l think because l am an aggressive swinger it fits me. During my time at the range a guy that was hitting balls a stall behind me cam and starting talking and compliment my swing and l l hit the ball. Later another guy that was hitting balls 2 stalls in front of me came and compliment my swing and how l hit the ball. While we were chatting a pro at the course was hitting balls about 6 stalls down in front of me and said l have a really good swing. So l started chatting with him and l told him that l just tried the strong grip today and he said wow that it awesome keep it. Now l am searching youtube on strong grips so l can understand why l was demolishing the ball like that. l am 58 and l had never hit the ball like this before. My 8 iron before last weekend about 160 yards. Last weekend easily 170 to 180 and it was fun. No fat shot only the sound of ball compression. Thank you guys.

I know where this guy is coming from. I feel like my game is getting so bad I can’t hit anything right. I have said to liam that if I haven’t improved by the next golfmates trip in January I am giving the game up. I am getting so upset with my game. Spent 2 hours on the GRF board, though I had it sorted and then shot 127 the next game 🥲 can’t understand at all

Whilst a bit of time off isn't always a bad thing Richard, sometimes just a reminder or two as to why we play the game in the first place can be enough to reinvigorate our enthusiasm even at what feels like the worst of times! A golfmates trip in January sounds like just the thing to get you going and I'm sure you'll have learnt many things from your current situation and made progress on your game 👊
