I'm always hesitant to do work on my own car but watching stuff like this reminds me it's perfectly possible and easy enough if you do the right planning and research. Great video, mate. Hope to have a 940 turbo by the summer of this year, it's the dream!

Smallest vice grips on the 7 mil. works great to get those worm clamps started.Just to break it loose. Also ; PH + treatment for antifreeze acidity is marketed towards the boiler /heating industry. ( For Weil McLain aluminum boilers) A small bottle added works wonders to stop corrosion issues.

Very educational and relaxing! I will have to find out how to properly tighten bolts and undo/put on hose clamps. Also I've heard of a new kind of hose clamp that's even better that newer cars use

As a rule of thumb, I have learned, if the lower hose and some other hose is swollen, change it, hoses & clamps, also I don*t know if that car uses a thermostat,check they tend to get damaged and if it never was changed,change it, they usually tend, to make the car run a little hot

But was the rubber a good fit? 🤣 love this motor, i’m due a coolant flush in the V70 actually. Great video. (and Wasp Killer 200 always works a treat) 🤣
@Involvod3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I would have flushed it out but as you know I've got no running water there, but although she was a little bit gunky in the tank there was no rust or corrosion in the coolant so I think she's doing alright. It's amazing how effective it is, even more than actual off the shelf wasp killer?! Guess that's why it's dubbed the 200 😂

LCR (lime calcium rust) cleaner will take the gunk off of your threads super quick. $1 bottle. You would need to submerge the part to soak for a bit however.

The heater hoses need doing as well. Take it from someone who had three heater hose failures in 12 months. I know, there are only 2 of them, but Ma's old mechanic was a bit dodgy. If you ever need to take the dash apart, do the rubber hoses under the dash. They are a nightmare with the dash on place.
@Involvod3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, they are definitely on the list, I cut it out of the video because the quality went bad but I plan to get some hose by the metre for the heater core and expansion tank from the auto parts store when they open normally, as it works out cheaper. Thanks for the dash tip!

some silicone and/or some kind of grease/anti seize on the parts that you put back on the car will save you a lot of problems in the future ;) I like your videos btw! and cool car

Of course there's people that want to watch a Brummie fix an old Volvo in a German shed (does it belong to DB?), that's completely normal mate. The question is, why are people that watching The Kardashian's or Geordie Shore? 👍
