6:57 It's a bad idea to wear a loose scarf or a hoodie with draw strings while bending down over a running engine, or any machine with moving parts really.

Had the same problem with my 940 sunroof - I burned-out several sunroof switches - the contacts were continually burning out. So I removed the electric motor./drive unit and replaced it with a manual winder unit - This was quite simple - I just had to modify the small cog on the manual unit. The manual unit is perfect and appears as if it has always been there. I never checked out the sunroof motor - but my guess is that there was a short in the windings which caused the switch to be overloaded.

Later models don't work like that. Pull the rear of the seat up forcefully, then remove 14mm bolts at anchor on each side.

I always debate taking off the side trim before waxing, good to see someone else who doesn't. I used to be able to take them off and clean under them, but I started cracking the clips taking them off. I wish there was a different method of clipping the side trim on and off.

Well done. If you can get at it easily, I find you're less likely to get a shock by disconnecting the H.T. leads at the distributor.

The old Volvos are Masterpieces and the Red Block lasts forever, If regular oil Change is done. They are nearly perfect and easy to Work on. The Problems with the Instrument- Cluster is well known and If they Had Just wired the Instruments instead of using that plastic foil, there will be No Problems att all. Nearly perfect....anyway, this is such a Solid and reliable Car, you can't find this quality today

Any Sonax are good products... Getting the wax off the trim is important, apc detail brush. Glass ckeaner gets wax off trim, Sonax glass cleaner can be used on paint as a cleaner.

I bought the sport exhaust from IPD and me dad and I are having an issue where the exhaust hangs kinda low because there's no obvious place to attach the pipe where the front silencer used to be to the frame due to the distance (reaching the o ring) and not having something to pull it up. Any suggestions? We tried a bracket and a leather strap but it was too busy and didn't make a difference so we're thinking of mounting an s hook with an additional bolt to connect the middle exhaust behind the cat to the frame? Too many potholes make it slide a little and the rear muffler pun is hitting the frame making an awful ruckus.

that drain plug in the block has always been there for all the 240's i have owned, models even in the mid 70's and the build up under the crank area is common , my 89 240 is dew for its 3rd cam belt change and seals ,last one has 200k on it and still good no cracks it is just time to change it
