I've gotten a good friend of mine into AR's over the past year or so and his first AR was a 10.5" .300. Coming from hunting with bolt guns and shotguns, he wanted something that he could hunt medium sized game with that wouldn't be deflected easily by brush. With some of the various 110 grain ammo his gun clears 2,200 feet per second so its got solid energy and good terminal ballistics, but its also a defensive carbine obviously.
@messi9991 Жыл бұрын
Ok after watching several videos where people claim silencers don't sound as quiet as in games and movies, this one sure sounds real quiet!
@mannineaux Жыл бұрын
It's the 300 blackout subsonic round that makes this particular setup so quiet. Suppressors do a very good job cutting down decibels, but to achieve this quiet of a sound, you have to be shooting subsonic rounds.
@senderhillside7233 Жыл бұрын
The problem with movies and games isnt necessarily how quiet the sound is, but more about what the sound is. Here you can hear what really quiet guns actually sound like, in some games and movies its literally "pew pew", which is ridiculous to anybody that has ever heard real gunshots.
@Marthyboy88 Жыл бұрын
This is because Subsonic rounds are just that, subsonic. They don't break the sound barrier. A Suppressor is going to reduce the noise levels, but it can't stop a super sonic round from creating a sonic boom. In this case, subsonic + SOCOM 300 sps = insanely quiet
@xxxgabemisuracaxxx2992 Жыл бұрын

The funny thing is that the strike industries dust cover is one of the only dust covers that actually lets you adjust the position of the detent to let you adjust exactly how tight or loose you want it to interface with your ejection port. You just need a flat security bit to adjust the screw the detent rides in.

@@GUNMENusa If you look closely at the detent you will see notches on either side of the ball. These are for a small screwdriver. Push the detent ball down with the end of the screwdirver to engage these notches and screw the barrel of the detent in or out to adjust tension. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jYqyhambrcpmgcU has an example. Hope that helps.

Love your videos as always my man. Very curious, as I'm preparing to build my first AR. Where did you learn to build ARs? I'm unclear what guide to follow
@GUNMENusa2 жыл бұрын
Heck yeah man! Thank you! So what I generally do is find builds on Instagram that I like, then I research the companies of the parts I like the look of then if the parts are solid I’ll run them for a while and see if it’s good enough to keep! If you’re building one from the ground up, find somebody’s build you love and build it out with the parts you like. (You can find part lists for AR builds anywhere) then piece by piece build it out! I generally take my uppers to be built by a pro and I build out my lowers myself. If you’re going to build out a complete then just go with reputable brands depending on your budget. Aero is good lower budget.

300 BLK was my first build as well, mainly because we used .223/5.56 exclusively in 14.5” barrel M4. I actually went to .300 BLK because bigger round = swinging a bigger hammer so to speak. Don’t throw too much shade on good old 5.56 tho I have seen it kill a lot of bad guys if you put rounds center mass in vital locations. I have become to like the .300 BLK in short setups because of weight, ease of carrying, and to be honest most engagements happen in close range in the civilian world. It is a niche that fits a certain need and has seemed not only by my experience but the likes of many that shoot more often than myself these days. Good review and your build.
