Tourings are awesome. A tidy one would fetch a good price here, 318i touring are very common, but 6 cylinder ones are not. Pity it needs pretty much the whole parts catalog thrown at it though.

I’ve had my ‘03 330i with just 92,000 miles for four years now. I bought it with 56,000 from the first owner and it’s been a great car for me. I have a five speed manual to play with, and that exact black leather interior. I have had similar rough idle issues which turned out to be filthy spark plugs and a broken air intake control valve. Overall, it has been a solid car for me, and I am amazed with the engineering and build quality that it contains. I hope to keep it as long as I can, as it is my first car too.

These are fantastic when they run well. The other 90% of the time you will be cursing them in frustration. I still have PTSD from my 3 years living with this same car. Thousands spent just on parts, days spent stuck in that engine compartment, multiple tows home. To get a decent runner you'll have to deal with oil leaks, vacuum leaks, ABS system, cooling system, fuel pump, steering rack and pump and hoses, CCV, VANOS, CV joints, etc etc etc. And yet, I still want another one, but make my next one 2WD and manual. M539 Restorations is a great resource.

It looks like front passenger door was repaited at some point due to the accident. This might explain rust on the right side of the car.

That front passenger door definitely looks like a different shade of silver to me. My guess is it has been repainted and this has contributed to the rust issue.

looks like a great project car, looking forward to these videos! a suggestion -- create two to-do lists for this car. the first list could be all of the things needed to make it a reliable daily driver (engine repairs, brakes, etc.); you could do a series of these sorting-out videos in the short term. the second list could be the cosmetic/optional things like rust fix, sunroof, etc.; depending on how long you keep the car, you could address those items in individual videos later on.
@vassamoylov99023 жыл бұрын
The e46 touring prices have been going up recently. Unfortunately your example is not ideal with being an auto and x-drive. Fix the mechanical issues and the small cosmetic problems and drive it as a daily. Btw check out FCPeuro for all the parts.
@nate80883 жыл бұрын
Oof, yeah, the automatic is rough. Would probably be worth $2k with a manual. No fun to drive, but maybe a good cheap flip if the mechanicals are sorted?
