Looking now, I know all that you did. I am also the proud owner of a 1991 318i. At only 100,000 plus a few miles and having its entire history in Arkansas, it's pretty solid but now I'm concerned about it having sat on an uphill incline for 10 years. Also, the tank is full of gas. I'm calling that a positive. However, water standing in the rear passenger side floorboard is of grave concern because it's most likely coming from the sunroof seal. Also, once on level ground, water poured from the door bottoms. Your videos will, hopefully, help me through most of what I need to do even though I'm working with the four cylinder engine. Thanks for showing so much detail and talking through what you're doing. You have also done several videos about the Toyota 3VZE engine. I also own a Toyota pickup 3VZE, SR5, 2WD, which I purchased new in 1992. That purchase was a nightmare, but the truck now has over 370,000 miles on it and it's still fun to drive. I've done virtually all the maintenance and upkeep on it and I purchased factory manuals with the truck. Sometimes, I'm still lost. Your video on the high engine idle speed solved that problem for me, but not before the engine was left running for 15 minutes in hot weather while the engine rpm idled slower and slower. Finally, it could no longer cool itself and the radiator exploded. I had the truck hauled home as opposed to dragging or driving it. No harm done since it didn't get too hot. So, you're a double-banger for me. I love both of these vehicles because the 5-speed versions are so much fun to drive. In my circle, I'm the only one who believes that. Thanks for being so thorough and for sharing your insights on parts, tricks, tools, methods, etc. I'm subscribed.

Not recommended full flush, only drain and fill twice total with each oil change. My transmission started to have issues after full flush at 70k, 17 gx460.

I am coming into this 5 years late, but there is a reason for that sensor. ALL inline 6 engines from ALL manufacturers - Ford, GM, Chrysler, Honda (CBX 1000 motorcycle), Toyota, AMC, ALL OF THEM - have several things in common; one of them is cylinder 1 and cylinder 6 are TDC at the same time. That sensor is how it knows the difference between cylinder 1 and cylinder 6 being TDC. An E30 3-series (and BMWs of the same vintage in the 5 series, 6 series, and 7 series) use one of the first computer controlled digital fuel injection systems: Motronic 1.x. It was designed in the mid-late 1970s and put into production in the late '70s with the E23 7-series. I'm fairly certain that the (extremely limited) compute power of the time dictated how certain things work - Motronic 1.x used the Intel 8008 8-bit microprocessor.

Yes indeed "getting the bolt holes to line up" at 5:30 is important. Do take care as the receiving bolt holes in the airbox body are a softer metal than normal (brass?). The frame is in the way if you are using an Allen driver on an extension bar as in the video, so it is super easy to cross-thread if you are not careful. Ask me how I know ;-) Great video in a great series. 2009 848 owner in Japan with MOSFET rectifier mod as guided by your other videos. Thanks!

I still have my 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid 1.3L 5 speed manual transmission with 346K miles and still going strong. AC still gets very cold. Other than normal maintenance the only major repair I had to do was replace the front transmission bearing which I did myself. Just replaced all of the coil packs because it was starting to misfire. I have a code for the O2 sensor which I will be replacing. I am still getting between 45-47 miles a gallon average. I bought it used with over 100K on it for $2000 and it paid for itself in the first year and a half due to the savings in gas. I will eventually have to put a head gasket on it but for now the bars leak head gasket repair is doing the job.

Did you remove the axle completely instead of hang it up on the strut? Why? My passenger side axle was hell to remove from the half shaft! Was yanking at it for days. Did the drivers side axle on an odyssey with fewer miles that came out like butter

My engine bay is like black w years worth of oils leaks in it. I wish I could get it as clean as this. I bought degreaser and cleaned a bit but it’ll never look this good unless I power wash my engine bay.

The issue with BMW reliability is; they're not known for being particularly EXPENSIVE - relative to other German cars of similar value/performance (of course) But BMWs like to fail CATASTROPHICALLY when they DO fail, rod bearings is a cheap preventative repair when the alternative is a blown motor, among other things like older cars having SMG/Vanos issues, etc. They're not horribly unreliable cars, but when they go boom, they go BOOM.

I have a 2024 with 900 miles on it and it looks like someone shot the front end with rocksalt loaded in a shotgun with all the paint chips and dings it has. No idea how people keep their bikes looking like this they must not ride. I’ve done Two track days and some road racing and this new gsxr already looks like it has 50,000 miles with less than 1000 on it. Thats what happens in a race environment at 160 mph +

Hero Honda Splendor a small segment bike launched in India since 1999, could run upto 3 lac kilometres without adjusting valve tappet or engine seals or even clutch plates. It is still in production till date and it is one of the world's highest selling motorbike and also ranked as the worlds most reliable motorbike.
