Great video. Thanks for sharing. One comment I would add is a lesson I learned from my saltwater tanks. When you add protein to the tank, try to get 100% of the protein ingested by the fish, so that they can digest it. Digestion breaks down the complex proteins into amino acids that the Beneficial Bacteria can easily process. The "soup" going in with you fish food mix adds a lot of undigested, complex proteins to the water column that is adding no value to fish growth, complicates the nitrogen cycle, and will dirty your filters faster. In saltwater we use protein skimmers to get this stuff out of the water fast, before it affects water quality.

Really liking that tank Adam. I agree on the plants. I like the color and in my case they give my Polystigma a place to chill where the boss, the Venustus can forget about him. Sometimes a sub-dominant male can do okay and it would put more color in there. Thanks

Sorry to hear that Sean. It's hard to tell really. Depends on the parasite, how sick they are, etc.

They got suck in belly . They don’t eat pellets and for some reason I feed them frozen krill and they started eating.
@adamc79185 жыл бұрын
It's common for sunken belly fish to not like hard pellets. You could try soaking them in water for 10 minutes first to soften them up, or do flakes or baby mysis shrimp to get them started

So you can breed 3 different species in the same tank without being afraid of hybrid? I may try that in my 125. I am always afraid cross breeding..
@adamc79185 жыл бұрын
I try to keep 3 completely different looking ones. If they do hybridize it's easy to tell in the fry by 1.5 inches. If u had macrostoma and nigriventer together that's when youd never be able to tell

Thank you very much for sharing. #63rd Like. Have a great week. Yes, the Wives keep us Men in check at all times, but you know what, I too would sleep in the aquarium if I could get away with that.

if you had this all custom made why didn't you have it drilled and put a sump? its almost counter productive to use canisters on a 300g. you are consuming almost 175 watts and getting so little bang for your buck... you have a nice tank with a heater stuck on the glass.. not so cool for a display..
