300+ MPH Batarang from DIY Air Cannon

We made some sizeable upgrades to the air cannon, and tested it out with batarangs and our 150 caliber bullet. It was a fun time, I hope you enjoyed it. How should we improve it further?

Shoot the bullet at a steel plate, to prevent the bullet from shattering and going every direction, you should make a box with a hole in the front for the bullet to pass through and the the back of the box will be the steel plate. I wonder what will happen to the bullet and the steel plate

two recommendations....One, weight or tie the end of the barrel down if you can. It will greatly improve accuracy. Barrel whip starts before the projectile leaves. Second, with the random things you cut for vids, you should cut a slug that will fit the canon then shoot them and see what happens to the various things.

I imagine rifling the barrel would be hard but you could rifle your projectile a lot easier. Also if you would boat tail the projectile it should be more stable.

Next upgrade will be to put packing tape over the muzzle and vacuum pump the air out of the barrel. The reduced drag will give you significantly higher speeds, especially with lighter projectiles.

Y'all should lathe out some jumbo size "diabolo syle" shotgun slugs. It's pretty much just a big pellet for a pellet gun. That way it shoots straight. Also a projectile shaped like a mortar with fins would do the trick.

Try to cut spiraling grooves into the barrel and the bullet so you can make it work like a rifle, that way you keep it from flipping around in the air and you can get more accurate shots
