Then, much later, Alexander the great stomped the Persians 100x harder after succeeding Philip II (whom reunited the Greeks after the Peloponnesian and Corinthian wars). Spartans fought for themselves and their city state never for the value of a universal or even Greek freedom as they were one of the worst tyrants towards other fellow greek groups like the messenians.

@TK Judging ancient people by today standards is wrong. First they had slaves but they were slaves to no one, only those who believe in freedom can live free, in that time everyone had slaves, but unlike Persia they didn’t send their slaves to fight their wars, they fought it themselves.

The Oracle predicted that freedom for Greece would be bought by the death of one of her Kings,and yet,Leonidas still went to face the foe knowing his probable doom,that is courage..The name Leonidas,means Born of Lion,he certainly had the courage of one,he was very well named....This has many of my fave scenes👍

"Give them nothing! But take from them EVERYTHING!" - Possibly the most badass line in all of cinema. This film is a masterpiece and Gerald Butler was an *incredible* choice for King Leonidas, his voice just as powerful as the legend he is upholding.

I really love this movie so hard. That final epic speech of Dilios, a year after the death of his brothers. It's such an epic moment, seeing all Sparta going to war, and not just Sparta, but all Greece thanks to the sacrifice of a bunch brave man. Fighting for freedom, for their country, for their people. I can't help myself but to be at the brim of the cry every single time I see and enjoy that SCENE. Wonderful. Really great work done here dude, an amazing video.
