300 SRT8 - Blown Head Gasket | Part 1 | Top End Taken Apart

It's was finally time to take the 300 SRT8 apart! I started by having to take everything off from the top side of the motor which included the intake manifold, valve covers, rocker arm assembly, pushrods, cylinder heads, exhaust manifold, lifters, etc. Everything went well with the removal but once the cylinder heads were pulled and lifted off the motor along with the exhaust manifolds attached to them. I was able to replace the motor and transmission mount now that I had more room and access to do so. Pretty much everything had to come off from the top side of the motor for the removal of the blown head gasket. By doing so it gave me the ability to change what is needed now since we have all this room and now is the only time it can be done.

How much did you pay for the car? I have the exact same, color and all with blown head gasket that I want to sell. Just not sure how to price it vs just parting it out?

Honestly, I do not want to say because if I were to sell it, then people will know or use that number against me and it will be difficult to try and sell the car with the right number in mind (meaning the number I would want to get in terms of price), later down the line, etc. I would honestly fix it if possible as opposed to parting it out. Although parting it out may be more difficult you may fetch more as opposed to selling the car as is. I was able to fix it because I am mechanically inclined and I did not put much into it as it wasnt that bad of a fix to begin with. Hope that helps!!

@@EvanTheMenace thanks for the reply, I understand. I’ve considered replacing my head gasket but would rather just sell it as is and be done with it. I have little to no extra time to work on it

@@redthebarber9611 I agree with everything you just said. Not everyone has time or the means to be able to fix a car with a blown head gasket. What I would say is look at what a low mileage 300c srt8 is selling for in roughly good to excellent condition and minus $5 to about $10,000 off the price and that should give you the realistic price you should sell it around at. Hope this finally bit of information helps you!
