I'm glad that Solid State and hybrid amps are sort of making a comeback in the metal and guitar community. So many amazing metal records were made using solid state amps either by themselves or as a crucial ingredient in a blend of different amps. I think that the more we move away from the snobbery, and just enjoy good tone when we hear it, the better it will be

Monster to the core. Also very good on the cutting midrange on the first gain channel and the second one exuding that old school scooped voicing. It’s kind of like a Randall-style hybrid with some noteworthy 6505 tonal characteristics. I have the G3 Plus version and tend to blend it with certain heavier and darker amps though it also works perfectly on its own as patently evident in your demos. I also have the V2 standard, and while they have notable similarities, they’re also quite distinct in terms of EQ curve with the V2 being quite a bit thicker and darker on the gain by contrast. Excellent showing! \m/

I love this amp. Huge low end. When at high volume Id roll it back to 4. This used to be my main show amp, until I upgraded to the Laney Ironheart. But I still love jamming with this amp at band practices. Id use it as a show backup head if if the footswitch worked properly. Need a new one. . Clean channel is big and warm too. I love that Randall Cab. I use a 1960A at the moment. But like the Randall look. Everything is micd nowadays so much more, so thinking of getting awesome 2x2 cab maybe. Anyway, I never played the V2 Randall, so excited to watch that video. I remember back in the day in GW magazine in the rig section, the dude from Mudvayne used one.

@@brokenlevelmusic don’t give up on Peavey cabs, some speakers need a little more volume to work right, Peavey 5150 speakers won’t sound good at low volume, probably why people don’t like them, K85’s are the same, they were originally made for keyboards so probably why they need more volume for guitar, oh the noise in your amp sounds like it may be dirty power, I live in the SFV, all the power here sucks hence why there aren’t any recording studios here anymore

The only cabinet that I could find to handle the punch on this amp was an oversized 400 watt Krank cabinet. Plus a noise gate in the fx loop gets rid of all that hum.

Is it just me, or do these amps kinda sound like an even tighter 5150 almost? That's kind of the vibe i'm getting from this amp, and i really dig it.

My RH300 G3 benefited greatly from removing the back off the 4x12 cab. It made the super heavy bass a LITTLE more manageable. LOL. Also made it a little more dynamic and tight sounding in the midrange. BUT the cab has to be 3-4 feet from a wall or a corner or it doesn't sound better open. Something you should definitely try. My cab is a Line6 Spyder IV 4x12... which has a bad reputation... but it crushes all with the back off of it.

Man that sounds killer! The RH amps are such great metal amps. I have an RH200SC and it is a blast, probably the most tube like of all the solid state amps I have played. I am always surprised that hybrid amps weren't more popular. You should try to check out the Crate GT200 if you come across one, they are pretty neat and can do a pretty wide variety of sounds.
