Barrel break in is mythology. All I have done is hose them out with brake clean and a patch so there's absolutely no oil, and run them. Krieger, Criterion, Proof Research, Ballistic Advantage, it doesn't matter, they're all excellent shooters with zero break-in. Clean it good when accuracy starts to drop off. Other than that, break in procedures are manufacturer recommended so that you wear out expensive barrels faster. And anyone telling you to oil a barrel prior to shooting should never be listened to.

facts! If you are getting your barrel hot enough to change the temperament of the steel you got other problems than just breaking it in LOL. At that point I would be more concerned about barrel warping and typically you wont find that in semi-auto or bolt action unless you are trying to make it happen.

for the Failure to Eject issues, that looks like an issue with the extractor portion of the bolt. Most likely a good field strip of the bolt and cleaning the extractor parts will resolve that issue. The bolt cycling seemed to be working fine in the slow mo views, so just make sure to keep that bolt moist in the field. The mag issues are causing the Failure to feeds. Not sure if the spring tension inside the magazine is too stiff, or if there is a dimension issue with the mag floor plate clearance to the mag walls. It looked like you were having an overall difficult time loading the mags all together. Overall, I personally feel that when you start getting into 300 win mag, 30-06, and higher calibers, bolt action is the best bet.

Thanks for the honest review. I look forward to version 2 of this rifle.

That stovepipe and unreliable operation seems to be a BCG and possibly a gas tuning issue entangled with the mag. I would break down the bcg, replace the extractor, firing pin and put in Springco springs. Then I would start in on the buffer system……

I'll bet that a non-belted magnum cartridge wouldn't have the same magazine issues. When I first started watching this video, I was wondering if the belted cases were going to be an issue. I formed this opinion from my experience with rimmed cartridges in a magazine type of rifle. I have an 1895 Winchester 30-40 krag, and if not loaded properly, lever function can be problematic. Even 22 lr in an AR platform rifle can and will cause feeding and ejection issues. I'd like to hear your opinion on this subject.

*Short answer:* Belted rimless cases are not ideal for semi-autos. *Long answer:* The belted cartridges (not belt fed, but with the belt around the case head) were designed for, and are most efficient in, _bolt action_ firearms with very strong initial extraction. The belt was designed for controlling headspace on cartridges such as the .300 and .375 H&H which had very small or very sloping shoulders. It is also useful on straight walled cases like the .458 WM. The case then got to adapted to many other cartridges, as is common when a new case design is offered...on which the belt it completely unnecessary. Because the .300 WM case headspaces on the belt, not the shoulder like most rimless, bottleneck cases, the cases are subject to stretching (up to .020" on initial firing) which causes more difficult initial extraction. Powerful initial extraction is a quality lacking in semi-auto and full auto firearms. This is why belted cases have never been adopted for use in militaries. (though they have been tested) They are not reliable enough for semi-auto or full auto fire. Semi autos do not have powerful initial extraction, or chambering, power unlike bolt actions with a camming motion and a hand operated bolt with a handle that increases leverage. Used in a bolt action rifle, a handloader can adjust the sizing dies to the exact headspace of their rifle and reduce the headaches of a belted case by ignoring the belt and headspacing on the shoulder of the case. Even then, the cases are noted for short life, with head separations being very common after just a few handloadings. Sizing cases like that in a semi-auto will cause feeding issues as the bolt has no camming feature and handle for leverage to _close_ either. Belted cases are not noted for their accuracy UNLESS they are carefully handloaded and sized to be a tight fit in the rifle's chamber. The .300 WM gained quite a reputation as a long range match cartridge, but NOT in semi-auto rifles or with factory loads. It has long been surpassed by rimless cartridges such as the .300 PRC...and even the .308 Win. Browning offers its BAR semi auto in belted magnum cartridges, (7mm RM, .300 and .338 WM) but it is known to have had extraction issues with them. Browning also now offers the beltless magnums in its BAR. Any of the rimless, non-belted magnums of "standard length" (approx. 2.5" case length) with a body diameter not exceeding the .532" belt diameter of the .300 WM, would be more reliable in the AR platform rifles. They could use the same receiver, bolt face and magazine of the .300 WM and avoid all the issues of the belted case. Which is WHY they were developed. We'll see how this goes. I predict the next time you see this rifle will be on the "Forgotten Weapons" channel.

That’s a “belted” cartridge so I’m not surprised it has feeding issues when used in a Semi-Automatic. Like a “rimmed” cartridge, maybe a magazine which places each cartridge ahead of the rim of previous cartridge would work best like a PSL or Dragunov type magazine. In any case I’ll pass, I wanted this to work. I’d prefer piston driven anyway and I suspect 300 win mag is going to heat that barrel up pretty quick.

Honestly, I was going to buy one, but I just don't think it's reliable enough for me. Especially not for $2k. I'm also not super stoked on the proprietary mags. Shame they don't use the AICS mags

I have a 2 BCAs and i wouldnt pay much more than I did for either of them. Both have been sent back once and have functioned fine since sending them back. After sending the second one back, I just want to deal with it again. I probably wont buy another one. I definitely wont spend 2k on any of their stuff.

Seems a touch under gassed, possibly leaving room for port erosion, which will inevitably happen under di operations. Sweet kit tho

All AR style rifles I have had issues with extraction It’s the same, the buffer spring is usually tight and causes ejection issues I also zero / test ammo in the prone, bipod and rear rest I shoot 220 grain out of my Mk-22 and mk-13….accurate to a mile. It’s on my channel Additionally, my rifles are 14-16 pounds average. I don’t clean my barrels but maybe once a year
