@@bmw328igearheadI was fantasizing about their 18" variant... The Nemo Arms "Omen Recon LT" which is 6 inches shorter (38.25" in overall length) and only 9.0 lbs empty. That's unfathomable power for such a compact package. That rifle only weighs 1.0 lbs more than the FN SCAR 17, so carrying it somewhat comfortably isn't out of the question. And shooting the 18" version versus the 24" version only diminishes the .300 Win Mag ammunition in velocity by -196 fps & -500 ft-lbs on average. Not too bad a sacrifice for the extra ease of carry.

@gathrus6847 Жыл бұрын
You see this happen alot when shooting underwater, or when you set off ballistics underwater. Theyre called cavitation bubbles and the energy of the collapse is enough to generate both light and heat. That's why it was scorched where the bubble was too. A cool little fact is that the mantis shrimp has a smasher that hits stuff so hard that it creates little cavitation bubbles on impact. If I remember correctly its roughly the same amount of energy as a .22lr bullet. Sorry if you already knew all this, but its super interesting stuff!

@@claponclapoff6 your mistaken. The millisecond plasma created by compressing the air quickly in the cavitation has NO WHERE near the available energy that was spent and imparted in to the projectile as kinetic energy. Harvesting the heat from that plasma would net you maybe a few hundred joule of energy, tops. The wasted muzzle blast from a .300 mag will have several thousands of joule of energy in pure waste. Ian sure all the little critters around there are really happy when they hear the shooting going on close by, it’s like a dinner gong calling them to the feast. 👍🇨🇦 And the shot through the ballistic gel showed the ever entertaining “compacted air pocket flash”

I own one, bought it in 2014, love that gun, fun to shoot, and recoil fall between a AR-15 and an AR-10, but it's a 300 winmag, incredible.
