I live in southwest NH! The old man on the mountain is our state mascot! It's on our license plate and drivers license! As someone said earlier, it fell down probably close to 10 years ago now! We are proud of the natural wonder he was!

The old man in the mountain was a natural tock formation in the NH mountains. Sadly it collapsed in the early 2000's, it was/is the 'mascot' of the state of NH. Great digs today!

The Old Man of the Mountain was a natural rock formation that was likely formed after the retreat of glaciers 12,000 years ago. It is essentially the symbol of the State of New Hampshire and appears on the state emblem. It collapsed on May 3, 2003.

Franconia is where my grandparents used to live. The old man in the mountains slid off the face a few years ago.

Franconia Notch is a famous spot in NH. The old man of the mountain was also an iconic sight, until it collapsed not too long ago. It was such a tourist spot that some people wanted to rectify the old man. It was always assumed, as well, that the old man was a Native American.

He was also on the back of the new Hampshire State quarter. A heavy fog hid the old man and when the fog lifted he was gone.

We are from New Hampshire too, I remember when the Old Man collapsed back in 2003. Sadly his face now rests in a pile of rubble at the base of Cannon Mountain. Would love to send you guys some Old Man of the Mountain NH highway tokens that are obsolete. Or maybe we will see you at the BONE 31 event?

The Flume is in Fraconia Notch.. Miss the old Man on the mountain...lots other natural beauties in the notch..Boise rock.. lake in the clouds.. artist bluff...the tram car to the top of cannon mt. Cannon mt. Skiing is sick
