My old man used to build 400s into 421 sbc for late model cars in late 80s early 90s they would make well over 700hp and run 7- 9k rpm for 100 laps on methanol.

I had an offset ground small journal rod SBC421 in my 66 chevelle street/strip car back in the early 90s it ran 6.80s in the 1/8 NA never blowed it up but when I took it out and took it apart and saw them tiny small journal rods 5/16 rod bolts it scared me so I fired up my credit card and ordered me a real 421 from Tom Klein.😮

I met Nick at Woodburn dragstrip a few years ago. I was tuning a methanol turbo car at the time and he gave me a rundown on plug reading. Very nice guy as evident in your interview. The owner of the green Challenger is a good friend of mine. That was a mid 8 sec street car just a few years ago.

I really appreciate guys who show their times. No time is big money for the racers I guess, but, as someone who really enjoys watching, not knowing how fast the cars are takes away from the viewing experience. Seeing a car go low 6s at 230 is impressive, seeing the same go... nothing, is the same as watching a couple of cars running 14s. Sorry for the rant, just a long way of saying thanks to this gentleman

Wow it’s amazing how it ran a 3 with that horrible turbo kit. That’s his battle no ones going to solve it until you fix that. You can’t do what ya did there buddy. Turbo kits need to be built with all thick wall pipe on the hot side, headers should never be used. You have a nitrous kit to try and leave bc you can’t figure out how to properly plumb the turbos. Bring it to my shop I’ll give you a lesson in building a proper kit that with light them turbos up instantly without nitrous.
@nickduda414Ай бұрын
lol that’s a methanol solenoid/nozzle not nitrous. It spools two 88mm promod turbos at 3000ft DA in less than 4 seconds ;) I think I know a thing or two more about spooling turbos and turbo systems than yourself LOL
