3000+ Hours of Mario Maker And I NEVER Noticed This...

Mario Maker 2 is being broken more by the day.
For those that don't know what an UNO MAS level is, essentially it's a short level made to showcase something neat, unique, silly or glitchy in Mario Maker 2. Typically, once figured out, these levels will take under 30 seconds to beat...but those 30 seconds are usually filled with eye opening moments. Let's dive into these levels!

The Magikoopa has been around for a while, and if you look at past videos you've seen it. The Magikoopa picks a location to teleport to, and it's on the only known flat ground object - the platform. The platform moves up faster than the animation for the teleport to complete, so the magikoopa is teleporting to mid air, which means the teleport resets and they teleport again, and again, and again.

With your question at the end of the chain chomp level: The reason why it dies is because it breaks free… inside a wall. If there was space around it, it would run around like an un-posted chomp.

6:23 My guess is that the Bowser was spawn-blocked by P blocks hidden behind the right goal post. When the room is reset with a P switch active, Bowser is able to spawn since the P blocks are deactivated.

You didn't know about the Magikoopa one? That was in a level in the Super RubberRoss World. If you've not played it, I recommend it. It's pretty dang hard, but I think you're up to the challenge.

I already knew it, and UNO MAS levels should be things that Nintendo didn't intend to do (bugs, glitches and stuff), many people already know that and it's something intended, so it's a terrible UNO MAS level

In SMB3 the chomp would also break free if left onscreen long enough. I didn't learn about this until the 2020s despite that having been my favorite Mario game ever since its release. Such an odd feature.

@Skivv5 I agree with you, I have also been watching Dave for about 3 - 4 years, as well as CarlSagan42, Geek, DaBeast etc. I am 47 and my son and I bonded over our live for SMM when I came out. Then he found DGR and we would share videos with each other , as Dave is such a wholesome good guy, my son was 9 at the time and DGR was suggested to him. Its good to see somone on YT who is spreading positivity, like most of the SMM community

4:55. I think they're trying to each select a block/spot on the seesaw to stand on, but there's too many and when 2 (or more) try to reset on the same block, it cancels the action for both

It's actually because the seesaw is on a track and constantly rising. The Magikoopa wants to teleport, so it selects a space on a flat surface that it can safely land on, and then teleports to that location. However, between the time the Magikoopa selects its destination and the time it arrives, the seesaw moves a pixel or two upward, and now the Magikoopa's landing spot is technically inside a surface instead of on top of one. So the Magikoopa needs to immediately choose a different destination...but the only available surface in range is the seesaw, which is still rising. So it just keeps happening over and over.

My guess on the chain chomps: 1. _SMB_ would eventually send the Hammer Bros. after you if you stood there for too long. 2. _SMB3_ would do the same with the chain chomps. 3. It's easy to stand there, paralyzed by fear, studying the movement, trying really hard to amp oneself up to go forward only to be stricken paralyzed again as the bro/chomp would bop around so sporadically... Even though the timer would kill such a player anyway, these enemies are subtly training one to think, no, really, I have to go forward to get past this because otherwise it's just gonna come for me anyway. Here goes nothing! etc.

SMB3 was one of my favorite games my entire life and I only learned about that breaking free mechanic in the past three years ago. It's pretty obscure because there's no intuitive way to trigger it, LOL. Most obvious interactions are to get scared and reckless trying to run over them and get bitten or to successfully evade them and make a bee-line for the goal.

As the magikoopas try to teleport to the platform, it moves up before they actually land, and since they aren't on the ground anymore they try to teleport again so they don't fall, rinse and repeat until the platform goes down allowing them to land on it. As for the beginning, it just raining magikoopas.

Original SMB3, the chain chomp would break its chain and run off if it did enough. It didn't die, it broke free of the chain.

The chaincomp easter egg is based on a fear one of the developers had of the chained up dogs they'd see on their walks breaking free. The real question is, why don't they break free anymore?

Same reason they're not as fast and aggressive anymore. In the original SMB3, they and Boss Bass were easily the two scariest enemies in the game. They were tuned down a bit to be less jarring compared to the usual array of enemies, though big swallow-you-whole fish didn't get the same treatment.

Did ever someone mentioned the "bling" sound at the beginning, when the DGR logo appears, is really loud? Everytime I start one of your videos I turn the video volume on almost 0% so it not hurts my ears. After the logo I turn it back to 100%. And my general windows volume is on 20% so this is not set too high. The rest of the video after the logo is completly okay.

Cute avatar! And yeah, SMB3 was one of my favorite games forever but I only learned about this a few years ago. My guess is that it's to spur some action if players are so intimidated by its presence they don't try to jump over it? Sorta like how Hammer Bros. have a routine of gradually moving closer to you as they remain on screen so eventually you need to run under, jump over, kill, or be hit by them.
