I'm the developer of the game. It's an honor to have such a well researched and edited video documenting everything. I can attest that all the info is accurate. I am actually still doing game development, but it will be a few years before my next game is released due to having a job now and it being a really large project. My next game will be called Dungeon Dame and although it's mainly a platformer, there's an overworld which is very similar to world's hardest game, but with a bunch of differences and new features. So the WHG series will not officially be continued any further but Dungeon Dame's overworld will be very similar (and hopefully better). Thanks for watching guys.

The running speed starts slowly, but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal. [beep] A single lap should be completed each time you hear this sound. [ding] Remember to run in a straight line, and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over. The test will begin on the word start. Huge respect to Shiroma and Pzula for their contributions to this speedrun’s evolution! (Based on the video at least) It seemed like Pzula was the only hope for toppling Shiroma’s record, not only in finding ways to optimize practicing (which is useful to the rest of the community), but to show others that it was indeed possible, which I think probably got more people to go for the record. He wasn’t trading records back and forth with others, he was just continually grinding his PB down until he got it. I don’t know exactly how to phrase it, but that kind of ‘trudging through it alone whilst making discoveries that will later benefit the community’ thing is very commendable And holy shit, respect to Shiroma for being a decade ahead of everyone else despite not even being able to practice individual levels. That’s fucking insane and it goes to show just how incredible of a player he is. I can only imagine what he could’ve pulled off nowadays with the tools at everyone’s disposal. I think we can all agree (as either viewers or players) that Shiroma is *the* chad of The World’s Hardest Game and laid the groundwork for any subsequent runners. And I feel like through Pzula’s dedication to match Shiroma, he made it seem more accessible/realistic for new runners to go for the record. I wonder how much longer it would’ve been before the record got beat if Pzula hadn’t decided slowly climb his way there alone Great video!

All of the world record holders introduced something new to the game. They're all incredible in their own rights, but I would LOVE to have seen what the early record holders could have done with the level selector when they were still actively speedrunning the game.

Amazing documentary. Pacing, editing, narration all top notch. I also love the fact that many of the mentioned record holders you mentioned can be seen in the comment section. All of them have had their fair share in speedrunning the game but I must say I'm most impressed by Shiroma, especially due to the fact that he got his records without level selection.
@90enemies2 жыл бұрын
If anything, this just highlight even more of what an accomplishment Shiroma time was. If he had access to all of these things that the modern speed runners have, just imagine all the things he could have discovered and optimized.

Update, Aaron's run was beaten by hsblue again last year and just 9 months ago, a player called raflikk beat the game in 5 minutes and 9 seconds, earning him the latest WR. Aaron's 5:14 sits at #6.

Few things: 1. I never thought I’d watch a video on the worlds hardest game considering how fed up with it I was in school (coolmath), but this was truly amazing. 2. It’s so funny you explaining how clipping essentially works in this game since I’d do it so often accidentally and just think I was the luckiest person ever for it not registering lmao. I learned so many neat things and I’d be lying if I said it doesn’t make me wanna turn my pc on and attempt a speedrun or record, but I don’t have that kinda dedication 🤣😭 I’ll keep an eye out for your content though, this video was really cool!

Only watching the first halve of the video you can see how much time and effort there was into the making of it. Just impresive. I love your videos Maximum, also your scripting skills are above a loooot of other youtubers. I hope you reach a higher sub count more in line with what you should have!

Wow! So cool too see Snubby, hsbule, Shiroma and Pzula all in one comment section. Makes me wonder what Hachimen and HatredCopter are doing today... I have been playing that game since 2012 and I still never completed it. The fact that Aaron was able to bit it in 5:14 amazes me. :P

I love speedrun history videos due to the fact most of them have encouraging stories of each top player and their runs and how the community pushes each other to break and move the record lower and lower

Amazing video my friend, you captivated my attention despite the fact I haven't even played this game more than a few times in my life, I always hated this game for how popular it was on games sites :D mainly because it was like the title says, a very hard game, but I can see now that despite the game lacking "fun" elements or good graphics and so on, there is still a lot of meaning to be gain from playing it and beating it, the accomplishment of conquering something difficult is everything! Keep up the great work!

I'm not even into watching speedrunning videos and I've never even heard of this game, but still I found myself watching through the whole 54 minutes of this video. Captivating. Very well put together and everything was explained so even someone like me (I'm not even a gamer to be honest) could understand and enjoy it. Great work! It's mindblowing how much patience these speedrunners must have. Thank you KZbin for suggesting this, to me, seemingly random video.

I just want to say man, your editing is so on point, so key on that it is an incredible pleasure to watch this video. I stumbled upon this channel from speed running and you have gained a new sub if this is the quality you put out. I know how much time this all takes so I want it to be known that it is appreciated by at least me and I am sure many, many other people here. Great job my friend, incredible homage to speed running and the small niche things that we all deal with when it comes to our passion, either it be this game or many others. I look forward to more of your videos, keep up this excellence.
