It’s so interesting to me that the overworlds and bonus rooms in this SMB1 just keep going with a straight path and automatically have the right background details (before the game glitches out). I wonder how this game was made that it „knows“ what a standard landscape should look like in each theme and why it even generates more of what you should see.

Fun fact about the masking texture, you can see it through normal gameplay. Those who know this game's speed running already know this, but when performing the wrong warp, at the very end you'll enter the pipe from the outside, thus seeing the masking texture

Hey Shesez. I hope things are looking up for you. This channel is a great idea! Though just some feedback, you may get more reach if you improve your thumbnails on this channel. Personally, looking at how it is currently, I don't think I'd care to watch the video if I had just saw it while scrolling, especially if I didn't recognize the channel name. It's not bad perse, but it's a bit...inexperienced looking for lack of a better term, and with the low amount of views to start with it may be glossed over by newcomers. Perhaps a logo for the channel or Boundary Break would help, something a bit more inviting/exciting. I'm no expert, just my first impression personally. Good luck to you in these hard times...

3:00 in Super Mario Bros. 2 you can actually get over the flag pole without any cheats. All you have to do is go to 3-1 and find the spring, and jump on it but make sure to Hold A to get a bigger jump and hold right, you should be able to jump over the flagpole. I tried multiple times and it work every time.

you can get past the flagpole in multiple ways in both SMB1 and SMB2J in SMB1 you can use the weighted platforms in the levels with them next to the flagpole, and you can use a koopa stuck on the bottom of the screen to give yourself a vertical boost in some levels (most notably 1-1) you can just jump over the flagpole with Luigi in basically every level in SMB2J, and it's possible to clip into the floor before the flagpole in certain levels and get past it by going under it's pretty cool

6:25 Interestingly the All-Stars version of the game is essentially a port of the original game's code to the SNES, with the graphics replaced and a new sound engine. The CPU is similar enough to the NES's CPU that it's possible to run the original code with minimal changes, and that's what they did. That's why many of the quirks of the NES game are still there in the SNES version!

Back in the '80s when we jumped over the flag pole in the first Super Mario on NES, there was another set of stairs and flag pole past the castle. We used to keep jumping over the flagpoles over and over to drive each other crazy by using up all of our time on endless flag poles before touching the last flag pole at the last second of our time instead of letting the other person go ahead and have their turn!
