Nice summary. I’ve got an XP4T and love it thus far but agree with your comments about improving fit/finish and suspension on these for the money we spend. It is a blast to ride and really is agile for such a large machine.

Thank you! I'm sure they'll all get better, hopefully the process doesn't get any more ridiculous but I doubt it.

Currently we own 2 ATVs... thinking about making the jump to a SxS soon. Keep coming back to the 20 XP turbo. Can pick one up for 18k out the door. Thinking this unit will be the one we decide to go with. Nice long term review.

18k OTD isnt a bad price at all. Mine treated me well, traded in a month ago now. My advise is keep up with the maintenance!

How many miles can you get on a tank of gas?
@McCurdyOutdoors
@McCurdyOutdoors 3 жыл бұрын
Just depends on speed. I've gotten as good as 150/tank and as bad as 85/tank.

I bought the 2019 S 1000 and am very happy. It suits my needs. I won’t get a turbo. 2 guys I ride with have them and wish they had went with the XP

Curious why they don't like the Turbo? The S 1000 is a great trail machine!
@kelenefta

McCurdy Outdoors- no need for the turbo. The XP is plenty of power and a great machine and 4K cheaper. None of us ride dunes. Always Forrest service roads/trails. Having a turbo isn’t practical for the group I ride with.

McCurdy Outdoors if money was not an option I would have the 72 inch Can-Am X.3 turbo SS or whatever it is called and have it just completely decked out and be an absolute absurd machine, but I don’t see that happening ever LOL. There is really no bad option when it comes to side-by-side.s It’s all about preference in my opinion

@@kelenefta There's a lot of differences between the 1000 and Turbo, mainly the engine and clutch. Bigger axles and larger driveline as well. I bought solely for HP at high elevation, torque/speed in snow and beefier components. Can't go wrong with either honestly. My buddy I ride with that has the X3 just traded up for the 2020 195hp 72 x3 xrs rr. We'll see how it does on Monday's ride 😉

McCurdy Outdoors I have a buddy who lives in Colorado and he had a turbo but traded it for an XP because a naturally aspirated machine fares better in extreme high elevations like there. I don’t know anything about the science of it but either way, a Sxs is frickin fun no matter what you’re driving. I got mine in August (my first ever) and it was worth every penny

So based in your trip meter, what sort of range do you typically get per tank? I just got a turbo and notice the gauge drops fast! Wondering how far is a comfortable range per tank?
@McCurdyOutdoors
@McCurdyOutdoors 5 жыл бұрын
If I'm on the gas hard I'd say 100-110miles, if in low and just cruising 120-130. I've had the low fuel light come on at 97 miles on a fast ride.

@@McCurdyOutdoors I have exactly 1479 miles on my '18......love the machine !!!!! (We call her Lucifer....LOL)....only had front diff replaced under warranty...pinion bearing machining was visibly off...that can happen....my wife and I thought we had over bought and at first thought the 1000 was what we needed.....we are "trailers" but this bike can be so mild mannered and responsive that we are glad we have it......at first fuel mileage was awful.....not even 90 miles out of a tank full....after about 500 miles or so it shot up to about 125-130.....put 30' Carny's on her as I like the softness of the stock clutch and thought 32's would send me to Dalton..........what clutch are you running????.....I also have a 2012 Sportsman XP with 790 hours on it and it runs like a top..... :-)

@@TheAmerican1963 I had issues with my pinion seal too around 700 miles - very common issue even on the new differentials. Im running a stock primary/secondary with a trinity kit on it. Think I'd go with Aftermarket Assessins if I had to do it all over. I like the 1000s, lot of low end immediate torque but the extra power of the turbo is too much fun. Glad you're enjoying your machine and thanks for commenting!
