Incredible hunt, guys. Greatly appreciate your tenacity, dedication, and commitment to showing these hunts as they happened. I firmly believe the public appreciates accounts of reality more than a constant barrage of kill shots, which is totally unrealistic. Thank you for your commitment to showing what is real, successes and failures. Thankful for your fight to maintain positive attitudes throughout!

Just wanted to thank Corey and Donnie for sitting down in this video and giving us an insight into what they eat on a long day and week of hunting, it gave me a pretty good idea of what to take on my over the counter high country mule deer hunt this year. One of the best series to gather information that I haven't thought of to put into my hunting assortment. Thank you guys and keep up the incredible videos.

One of the greatest mature bull elk pursuits I have ever seen, from the initial game plan at the base of the mountain to the final approach, step by step perfection, calling, communication and shooter positioning relative to the bulls attitude and location was legendary. Right shot at the right moment, smart bulls make their luck sometimes! Just as awesome as a kill shot, because it illustrates the fine line of survival in the wild for the hunter and the hunted! You guys are legendary elk hunters, thanks for sharing the passion!

Thanksforgiving us this series with a new entry to look forward to each night. Corey no need to describe the feeling, if you archery hunt elk for any length of time you surely have experienced the same emotions. We would all like to be successful when we invest that much time and effort but look at the bright side, slow down look around and appreciate the amazing country you are surrounded by and the opportunity to be in elk if you are willing to put in the work. It’s obvious you willing because you guys are working your butts off. Good luck

Best dad joke my dad told me after I missed a nice buck and was kicking myself over “IF’S “. If I had done this different if I had done that different. He told me can’t live life by if’s son because if my aunt had nuts she’d be my uncle. Hope this brings a smile and a new way to look at “IF’S. Love listening and watching all your videos and learning more and more. Thanks

you got into elk, that's more than some can say. successful is not defined by just harvesting an elk. you are entertaining thousands of people. because of you guys I am planning my first archery hunt for 2020
@stephenshell62005 жыл бұрын
listening to your comments at the end of the clip reminded me of how I've felt when I come so close and get nailed by a game of inches. You are absolutely right, it is deflating. I am a solo hunter and that feeling of failure to connect can drive a hunter right out of the woods. You are so fortunate to have the brotherhood you have with Donnie and the others you hunt with to help steel your heart and keep you going.. I love your content. It helps knowing I am not alone in my thoughts even though I am alone in the woods.. Stay strong and fill that freezer.. :)

Great hunt and a whole lot of elevation. The one bugle point on the rock, I was in awe of the background scenery. Archery is indeed a game of inches or 1/16 of an inch. We aren't perfect but can only learn and move on. Y'all are all a beast for the hike you made. Can't wait to see the next episode.

This episode is very realistic and illustrates the failures hunters go through. Man!! That's a crazy one! My heart was thumping like I was there! Talk about game of inches, more like fractions of inches! If it makes you feel any bit better, and I don't think it would me, but it all least shows us that even the best elk hunters can go through bad steaks! I know you don't look at yourselves as professionals, but we do, and your still one of the people I look up to and learn from! I know your gonna break that steak, and I can't wait to see it! Miss those day and have not wanted to replace him so I hunt alone. I felt your pain and have had the same issues as many of us bow hunters have gone through. It brought back the same disappointment on missing a chip shot on a great animal. Hang in there Cory your hunting parner will bring you back up with is great smile and maybe a Father joke.

Lots of great bugling. Some incredible steep country. Reminds me of when we were first married and driving around Lewiston, Idaho... I would point to the cows grazing the hillsides and told her they were special cows... that they had shorter legs on one side so they could graze standing upright on those hills. Five years later, I may still have a bruise on my shoulder where she punched me. Your elk country reminded me of that story.

Continually learning from this show and your approach to elk hunting! One thing I think I will practice is shooting at elevation deficits. I missed an elk when I was on high ground shooting downhill, and part of that was a lack of practice in that scenario. This reinforces the need for practice for me! Thanks guys.

This was an excellent video, probably the best yet because it showed how tough it is to archery elk hunt (physically), a complex calling situation, the highs and lows of getting a shot and missing and last but not least it was a clean miss!
