Rode in a brand new one as a teen and have loved those ever since … even wanted a silver one so badly back then.

The differences between a regular M and a Special are vast. 1 has to drive them to understand. The exhaust note is much louder, the suspension much firmer, the trans tuning is much more aggressive on both up and downshifts, and the engine tuning is much crisper.. I'm betting it makes more than the 255 advertised h/p.

They actually do have more then 255 horsepower it's been proven by a few owners who hooked them up to dynos when they were new they had 263 horsepower and 268 pound feet of torque with a top speed of 146 mph that I have tested my self on a back road 🤣

well that was my car i babied it till the end Still looks like brand new. Did everything I was told to do included only synthetic oil changes a must. She was a 2001 300m with only 92,000kms raced like a baby and it just dies on the highway. I Just bought a Hyundai sport and love it. Thanks Chrysler for your support

The Special looks pretty sweet. The performance and exhaust note is appealing but I wonder if for mostly long road trips if a softer and quieter regular 300m might be better.
@laszlopalkonyay41332 жыл бұрын
Wow. That was very expensive for a Chrysler product of the cab forward design area!!! Those cab forward Chryslers used to be a lot cheaper than todays Chryslers. But that 300M special was priced almost like a Cadillac..

Yes these cars are very dependable if well taken care of if you change the oil every 5,000 miles and changes the transmission fluid every 30,000 miles and flush the coolant every 40,000 miles the 300M and 300M Special are very good cars make sure you also keep up on all other maintenance as well they get great milages are fast as hell and very stylish and cheap to buy and cheap to insure too.

As the second owner of a Voyager from the same era (which uses 300M floorpan and many parts underneath), Chryslers of this era are good, reliable vehicles that just require the owners to hit the service intervals on the mark. If they've been abused, they fall apart, if you get one well looked after, 500,000km is not unexpected. And never skip schedules for Engine Timing belts. :)

Did these ever come with the AWD system? Wondering how cool one would be swapped to RWD, or V8 AWD.

FWD only. This car was really supposed to be the 1998 2nd Gen Eagle Vision .
@PiDsPagePrototypes3 жыл бұрын
@@Mr_57ChargerRT Since posting, I found out it's the same floorpan layout as the Voyager, and there's room underneath to do a RWD V8 conversion on either the 300m or the Voyager. Just a shame we never got the 300M DownUnder, it would be an awesome long distance cruiser here.
