Saya sejak zaman kanak2 lagi memang meminati Locomotive.. Tahun 1955 juga mengingati Locomotive berenjin Wap yang sungguh unik.. Diikuti pula tahun 1957 apabila MALAYAN RAILWAY kali pertama menggunakan Locomotive berenjin Disel..Jika mengikut alunan dan umphh.. Saya lebih memilih Train Senandung Malam.. Enjin Disel dan Koc2 yang sungguh eksekutif dan berhawa Dingin.. Selamat Maju Jaya KTMB !!

sehingga tahun 1970an sistem pengangkutan selepas stesyen keretapi Kuala Krai hingga ke Lipis hanya ada dua, 1. Keretapi dan 2. Sungai. Saya masih ingat dalam tahun 1971 dari Kota Bharu menaiki bas hingga ke Kuala Krai, kemudian menaiki bot untuk ke Dabong, Manik Urai Kuala Balah dan sebagainya. Di Kuala Balah saya dapati ada track lori balak dan ada jeep fourwheel drve digunakan oleh penduduk. Zaman itu petugas keretapi semuanya berpakaian sangat kemas, ketua stesyen memakai bush jaket begitu juga konduktor pemeriksa tiket bersongkok dan berbush jaket. Waktu itu orang kampung hanya berkain batik yang usang dengan semutar di kepala. Masa berubah. Setiap stesyen ada peraih dan penjual hasil tani..... Di Dabong saya dapati di kedai makan hanya ada lauk ayam kampung, dan kadangkala ada daging sebagai lauk pauk dan amat sukar untuk merasai lauk ikan daripada laut...... Air pula adalah air botol kaca samada sirap, oren dan sebagainya berharga antara 10 sen dan 20 sen. Waktu pagi di Dabong badan menggigil sejuk...... masa berubah. Pada zaman itu tiada koc berhawa dingin. Ada ketikanya penumpang terlalu ramai hingga terpaksa berdiri sejauh beratus-ratus kilometer perjalanan atau duduk dilantai.... pernah sewaktu saya hendak ke Kuala Lumpur daripada Kota Bharu ada penumpang terpaksa duduk di atas atap koc.

Yang seronok naik tren lama ni, apabila kita boleh buka tingkap ataupun pintu dan bagi angin luar masuk dan dapat manikmati pemandangan belakang tren yang macam time 35:00. Bila Kereta api landasan berkembar dah siap nanti tak dapat nak buat semua tu lagi hanya dapat aircond sahaja.

kalau naik ets rase nye tak sesibuk gostan sana atau gostan sini...terus jer jalan.tak macam naik mel kepala disel.ini..banyak yang kene adjus........cuma kekadang konpius kejap kepala ketapi di depan..kejap duduk di belakang...anywqy good job...feeling nak naik ketapi bawak famili naik berth koc...ke kelate...

My hat's off to Malaysian rail tracks that the Rail Admin.Co had invested in & maintained to such exceptional quality, rivals only by the advanced nations..., unfortunately they but still kept to the narrow 'Meter Gauge', what shud've by now been converted to the 'Standard or some evn wider Gauge' system for better weight distribution, kinder (down force) to the ground on wic they run thru, thus less undulating damage to rail bars, also less lateral rocking (I guess), better ride comfort for passengers, less tussle to the goods-freight of wic they carry, it also seemed that they allow for higher travel speeds, furthermore broader breadth coaches is w/o say a whole lot more spacious for getting about. Understandably tho, such exercise akan jugak menelan belanja yg agak ketara. On (i) Tanah wise, rasanye tu bagi KTMB dah tak mnjadi mesa'alah, kerna KTMB masih miliki tanah rezab yg banyak, (ii) Platfom Steyshen, (seandainye itulah pilihan) jalan sinkat adlah cume perlu menjalani pemotongan platform yg kini dgn adenye peralatan moden spt ; gergaji rotary bermata berlian & kemudiannye di-touch-up/baikpulih dengan-oleh kerja mahir, (iii) pada hal mudah lagi sekiranye steyshen tu cuma sebelah yg rasanye kebanyakannye itu adlah bercorak gitu, dimana landasan rel boleh di alih keluar beberapa jarak yg seharus & kemudiannye di-realign semula sejajar kepada garis luar platfom, (iv) mana x2 jejambat kete-api kuno yg adenye crossbar-beam trusses pada di atas, harus langsung diganti dgn jenis yg open-top & diperlebarkan lagi bagi mnampung asset x2 Rolling-Stok baharu yg lebih lebar. Las skali, halangan yg lebih memberi cabaran adlah terowong x2 yg kena diperlakukan dgn pembikinan semula yg ketara, teutamanye pd keluasan ruang terowong kami yg walaupon masih belum usang tetapi agak kuno, lebih x2 lagi kelak suatu hari nanti tentu akan jadi usang juga, malah mendatangkan bahaya bakkan mimpi-ngeri. Atau oltenatif yg selain dari ni, laluan itu boleh dibikin dgn cara memintas terowong lama kepada suatu laluan serba baharu, malah mungkin tidak ade perlunye untuk membuat hape-hape terowong sama-skali. Ye, perbelanjaan sebegitu memang tersangat banyak, tetapi sekire dipandang puluhan dekad jauh ke masa hedepan, ia pastinye berbaloi & ini bukan sahaja cume bagi menfa'at khidmat penompang yg padehal kian lama sebenar-benarnye tidaklah seberape-mane. Tetapi sebenarnye bagi kepentingan utama iaitu khidmat-servis pelanggan muatan freight services "Land Bridge", tulah yg harus diutamakan. Khidmat-servis coach penompang juge memang boleh bertambah baik lagi dgn adenye kantin @ kafeteria yg mampu membekalkan mekanan agak segar (disini tidak memaksudkan yg tersegar, maklomlah tu, tetapi se kurang x2nye bukan mee-goreng @ chow-min kicap hitam, kueh-teow "serba-sejuk" bak se olah x2 seharian-semalaman rengkuk dalam cabinet macam dulu x2), berkualiti serta serbe panas-membare. Nasi Lemak dgn ayam rendang*, Western ringan macam ; Nugget, Cocktail Baby Sosej, Fish-Fingers & Pau x2, Siew-Mai & No-Mai-Kai Halal (hasil bahan ayam, ikan @ udang) ala hasil buatan cara Cina dr Cina Muslim (mungkin @ mana siapa yg mampu membuat benda itu) bagi sarapan pagi & mekanan Nasi India Muslim beranika lauk & Western saperti Fish & Chips @ Chicken Chops harus mnjadi staple bagi bekalan makan tengah-hari & karipap Melayu, bekalan Pau x2 & se lain x2 tersebut tadi serta bun x2 pelbagaian boleh dijadikan buat 'Tea Time'. Memandang kepade keadaan terpulanglah kepade KTMB untuk membuat pilihan mana dijadikan bahan mekanan komplimentari pra-bekal kpd penompang, tapi pengambilan ulangan teh & kopi (kopi jenis yg dikenal-pasti tidak mningkatkan denyutan jantung mendadak @ mana yg mungkin membawa kepade kemudaratan @ keadaan yg memerlukan bantuan kecemasan) berserta bekalan krimmer susu @ mana x2 minuman ringan 'Canned Drinks' & Mineral Water, biarpon dari "Manned" Food Counter @ Dispenser, itu semua adlah opshenel & perlu dibeli sekiranye ada kehendak. Perkhidmatan x2 sebegini semua harus diwujudkan. Apetah lagi seandainye KTMB wujudkan juge khidmat koc 'Car Transporters (Enclosed)' Tertutup, ianye akan mnambah-baik lagi khidmat-sarvis tren penompang KTMB. Ini adlah kerna, pabile sampai ke destinasi tujuan nanti, dapat juga pelanggan tadi ada khidmat kete dianye sendiri untuk kesana-sini & tidak sama-skali kesuntukan kemudahan khidmat pengangkutan. RAC has nothing to do with the rail condition (which is quite poor by the way) ... It's KTM that has been maintaining it (until 2016/2017 when RAC "took over") since the British left and the subcontractors now. The government did try to make the standard gauge happen. It's known as the ECRL. KTM is doomed not because of its infrastructure condition. It's because of poor management. And, Landbridge and standard gauge cannot go together. Because SRT is still using the metre gauge and they are not changing that any time soon.

Brian Morris Hehe, two of them in fact. Not to mention the token block signalling. But, that's the attraction! Wished they would keep the semaphore signals instead of replacing them with colour light signals, and maintain this Jungle Train line in its traditional form, and concentrate on making the new and upcoming East Coast rail Link as modern as possible.

I guess federal developments for Kelantan has always been neglected. After the end of Sg Golok shuttle service from Tumpat, there's just not much need for the island platform.

Pasir Mas station was the only station in Kelantan that had three platforms. The 3rd platform was normally used for trains bound to sg Golok. I used to ride this train during my childhood. Now no more train service from tumpat to sg golok.

Kuasa Bertolak sesebuah tren. Seperti lampu hijau di signal, kalau sesebuah tren telah diberikan token, maksudnya tren tersebut boleh bergerak ke stesen seterusnya dan dijamin tiada tren lain akan berada di landasan hadapan, kerana hanya satu token sahaja yang boleh dikeluarkan untuk sesebuah seksyen (block section) antara stesen.
