A little glass bedding always helps to tighten groups. If you check the action in the stock around the tang and around the trigger guard for tight fit. That and reloading makes a shooter of a wider range and weight of bullets. Take care.

When you find an ammo that works great in a particular gun, put a sticker in front of the trigger guard. When you go to hunt with it, you’ll know which ammo to grab.

Had a 7x57 Mauser years ago that had really wide groups @ 100 yards with any ammunition with a bullet weight of 145 gr or more. It was a small ring Mauser and the bullet tips were hitting the breach and knocking a dent in them. Same thing with a British 303 when i used Remington 180 gr they had the round tip on them and the breach was destroying them.

I've gotten spoiled by your recent better groups! I'd make sure the stock was evenly pressing along the rifle barrel, or entirely free floated properly. I like the short magnums so you can use a shorter bolt action, though I never got to them; my older long action rifles did their jobs so well.

I have been loading for my 300 WSM for 10 years. This year I found the best load I have ever found…on any gun. It’s a 180 gr Berger Elite Hunt Hybrid with N550 VihtaVuori powder. I’m routinely hitting 1000+ yard steel with ease. Could not be more excited to put one in an elk and deer this season

I like to watch these ammo tests just in case I ever find myself living in a place where bigger calibers make a difference. I live in Texas, you can take any game here with .22. Except for javelinas, you may want to step up to 5.56mm. .22 will just piss them off.

In Australia people hunt Fallow deer with .243 and upwards, very few I know use anything above .308, 300WSM, 300Win Mag and their like are more popular for large red deer or our toughest deer the Sambar, most use the .308 or the 30.06 for all our deer and have great results, personally I think 300WSM is a bit of an over kill for such a slight animal

A buddy has a 300 WSM that he shoots 165 grain Nosler Accubonds from at 3065 FPS and gets .5” groups at 100 yards. He’s killed a couple of nice bull elk with it and a nice mule deer at 350 yards in Colorado. Great all around cartridge.

I get .2 moa out of my Baikal shotgun loaded with slugs at 100 .. he should be doing a lot better than half moa all day every day. .. my other rig is a Tikka 3tx, heavy barrel in 30 06, I whacked a t3 terminator brake on it to tame it a bit, but it doesn't group at .2 moa like my Baikal. I've only been reloading since I was 16, I'm 56 now..shot more game than I can remember from large sambar to pesky rabbits, but I'll tell you nothing wrong with the ol Baikal.

@@chrisacd5895 There’s is absolutely nothing wrong with .5” groups at 100 yards. Accuracy like that is more than enough to kill a pronghorn antelope at 400 yards. I have a 270 that shoots .5” groups at 100 yards and I’ve killed two antelope bucks at 300-350 yards with 130 Accubonds leaving the barrel at 3000 FPS.

I had a 300 wsm in a savage striker bolt action pistol. had a built in muzzle brake. Ouch. By the way get a long eye relief scope if you are going to keep shooting the 300 rum. You'll become a member of the 300 rum scope cut club. Love your channel. A clean gun is a happy gun.😁

You ain't wrong, I've had less than stellar results with that blue box federal power shok across different caliber's even, not sure why though 🤷 But I get okay results with the federal fusion and have been hunting with the fusion almost since it come out. Some year's seem to be better than others when checking the accuracy of my bing bang prior to season with the fusion but always fairly good to occasionally great. Looked like to me you had pretty excellent accuracy with the fusion as well 💥💥💥💯

Hey, now that you have that tenpoint crossbow you should do some broadhead reviews. My crossbow is a pain.. I had to try 3 or 4 different arrows/heads to find what it would actually group. My field points hit way different than my broadheads too... Have to resite my crossbow every season if I want to practice during the summer with field points etc

Its funny about the various types of ammo... Here in Commiefornication we have to use non-lead for hunting. They forced us in 2019. Its frustrating because alot of us hunters have boxes and boxes of lead bullets. So what to do with that type of problem. In the past I always bought federal nosler partitions. These always flew well and had good expansion. Now, forced to go with etips or TSSX or TSX or whatever we can find to use for hunting. Problem comes with a price 60.00 a box for the cheapest non-lead. I can do reloading but finding materials is a problem too. So forced to do the following: sight in with lead then check it with 1-2 bullets of lead free since I am not going to burn through a box not knowing if I can get another box later. I have done this with my tikka 300wsm. Now, usually, I do not bother sighting in if I know my rifle was not bumped or dropped in any way. No point on messing with it if its a shooter. This, time I had to re sight in because I sent my scope back to Leupold. To non-lead... These bullets suck! No expansion at all. My first time ever to lose a deer with a rifle. Its not a good feeling... Its unethical hunting. I spent two days trying to find that deer. I even brought my dog out twice to see if she could get on the scent. Found blood but no deer.

My Browning A Bolt Stainless Stalker is deadly accurate with Winchester Ballistic Silvertip both in 150 & 180gr. It wouldn't group consistently with any other manufacturers ammo. I will admit that I haven't tried the Norma stuff though.

I have done several ammo test with multiple calibers and have come to a conclusion. PMC is the best range/plinking ammo, Federal Premium Gold Medal Match is slightly more accurate but costs more, and either Barnes TTSX, or Hornady ELDX are going to shoot the best for hunting (also most expensive). Right behind them will be Federal Premium Berger Hybdrids , Federal Premium Barnes TSX, and then the Norma stuff. I’ve gotten .75 inch groups with the Norma whitetail line but only in one rifle. That has been my experience with Savage, Remington, Winchester, and Tika rifles. Next might be a Bergera. Heard good things about them. I’ve spent a small fortune figuring that out so I hope it helps somebody

Best ammo in .300 wsm outta everything on the shelf is federal in plain cheaper make & in 150 grain but last year they came out with federal terminal ascent and they exceptionally great and you should check into them loads they turn a 30-06 into .300 in performance

Those federal power shocks might go through steel plate a 25 yards they are the only rounds I have that can shoot through my 3/8 steel plate a 25 yards and they are the cheapest rounds I bought for my 300 win mag.
