3020 slight axle damage, 4430 quad range repair. help an old farmer sell his 4430

That's a nice looking 4430. I've only ever operated one once. We had a neighbor who custom chopped our corn silage. Him and his dad had been filling silos for the farm I was working on for 30 years. 4430 was fueled up, chopper was ready to go but the neighbor had an appointment so I chopped a few loads til he got there.

I just broke the front end spindle on my 4010 with loader that has a Swarts front end on it, first fix on that front end

Schwartz wide front ends they were damn good at breaking axles or anything in the front end on a Schwartz wide front not heavy enough by any means

I have one on a 70 Diesel that my dad got new when I was a little guy. It fine for that but surely not heavy enough for a loader.

Old diesel engines may be the best thing we ever invented! Its the best stuff, in the future all computers should run on diesel fuel!!! Lol Even at current fuel prices It prob be cheaper than the new green electric grid And more environmentally friendly. Lol. In line 6 built modern American ag as we know it! Diesel Power!!! There may be a point in the near future where farms may have to power themselves with generated electric power. Will have to see how all these industrial solar farms will pan out. U seeing many signs up north for solar farms?

Between direct physical attacks, cyber attack, and very bad energy policy by our own government, I set a pto generator which will be powered by an Oliver Super 77 diesel. I expect this little tractor to use about a gallon of fuel per hour. It's about the smoothest running straight six I've ever heard. The hard part will be keeping people from stealing fuel or the whole darn setup if things do go south in a big way with the grid. Remember 120 years ago people were hung for stealing horses because it was a death sentence for the person who owned said horse.

One local farmer got approached for A Thousand Acre solar farm. If what he says about the money they're offering is true you can't blame the guy. But the local cities are talking about having regulations that they can't take Farmland out of production. Add the Cattlemen Association we had resolutions to the state about that as well there is so much unproductive land up here that to take a valuable acre and put it to a solar panel is just absolutely stupid But don't worry Mother Nature Minnesota just passed their clean energy bill to be 100% green by 2040

You just bought a 4020 gas. I guess if it works for you why would you swap? The diesel would be more efficient

@Big Whane I don't have enough info of the situation. If the gas engine is a good runner and only gets a few hours a year I probably wouldn't go through the work. If the tractor gets a couple hundred hours in a year and it's your main tractor you rely on. Then at least put bearings in the diesel engine and a new dampener and do the swap

Yeah the quad range you should put your gear lever in neutral when shifting the range levers. It helps reduce the amount of grind. Ideally you should stop to change ranges but nobody does

@@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754 I always stop and I tell anyone else that drives it to stop, but the GPS installer took it for a drive once and he banged it from C to D at about 18 km/h and I was mega pissed.
