Your video is excellent. However, it stopped just short of what the "REAL" problem is for many of these printers. And that is accessing/replacing the pickup rollers. I followed you all the way to the end hoping and thinking that it would cover gaining access to the pickup rollers. But I was disappointed to know that I went through all that and could not get any further. I and probably many others would be very grateful if we could find at least one video showing how to get to the pickup rollers on this printer. Thanks anyway for what you have already done. Keep up the good work.

Same issue on mine. Pickup roller assy drops down onto the paper, but either doesn't spin or has low torque. It might also be too shiny, but long stick alcohol cleaning hasn't helped. If I push the paper by hand, it prints great. I've cleaned all the accessible pinch rollers with no improvement. I haven't been able to find one, but a detailed drawing of how the paper pickup system works would be great.

Hey.. I commented below. I took my 6500 apart to find out what was causing the failed main tray paper pick-up. If you want a detailed explanation and a "possible" fix, check your KZbin site for a message comment from me.

You are 100% correct. My roller gear went out too .Looks like I might have to trash the printer.
@philatwood20867 ай бұрын
@@bobbyterryif you're really careful, before you trash the printer, remove the ink cartridges, turn the printer upside down, remove as many trays as possible and slide the broken gear to its correct location and use a drop of super glue to hold it in place. It's a bad design having so much pressure and stress on such a small gear.

Very good video. I live in a country where there are frequent power cuts and each time my HP 6500 goes into calibration and consumes huge amounts of ink and what's worse, flushes the printhead again and again filling the pads. The ends was a printing system failure and a useless ink smudged printer. Using your instructions, I took apart the HP6500, cleaned the pads and replaced the printhead, I also cut out the plastic cover and the frame over where the cartridge parks so I can clean the ink pads which has to be done every 3-4 months. I also disabled warning "open cover" to save ink after manual cleaning and cartridge changes. Thank you very much.

I am having so much trouble with the paper pick up that it was a satisfying experience watching you take apart the printer. I would say cathartic except for the fact that you don't go so far as to take apart the paper load compartment with rollers. my 6500A plus inkjet paper feed problems was pampered with a good cleaning and still the rollers will not feed the paper. why? I'm about to take apart the inkjet or drop kick it. ill gladly take suggestions.
@303electronics4 жыл бұрын
Hi. Thanks for the comment! The roller gears may be broken. Do the rollers spin when you are trying to feed paper? If not, the unfortunate case is that gears are out of place or broken on the printer. It is extremely difficult to get to the rollers on these models.
@elizabethtaylor58454 жыл бұрын
@@303electronics I cleaned the rollers on the bottom floor of the tray (they have two small gears on the floor) and i cleaned the grey rollers on top. when i put to action the two met and spun. i was sure of this because i put a small black line on the grey rollers and i could see the rollers turn. so yes the line on the rollers showed that when they dropped the rollers spun. i can manually feed the paper one sheet at a time, but the paper will not feed itself.

Thanks for the video, very informative! My 6500 wireless (709n) stopped printing black. C, M, and Y all work. Cleaned the head, replaced the ink cartridges with known good ones, replaced the head, still no black printing (also fails alignment). Opening the left side door I do not see any loose or broken ribbon cables. Does the formatter PCB contain all of the electronics which drive the print head, or are the final drivers part of the PCB which is located in the rear of the print head carriage? Is there an easy way to localize the fault to one or the other?

My printer keeps telling me that the printhead is missing or damaged. I bought a new printhead and still same message. I have cleaned everything, put in new cartridges... still no good. Can you show how I can fix this problem without having to take too much apart. Thanks
@303electronics3 жыл бұрын
Hi. Try cleaning the golden contacts between printhead and carrier it goes into. Make sure all packaging and protective tape is removed on your new printhead and also clean contacts if necessary on the printhead as well. Please let me know how that goes.
@emmyjay533 жыл бұрын
@@303electronics thanks for your reply. Have done all that. Someone said they put a small rod (I think it was like a piece of a skewer) between the printhead and the carriage it slides along to make contact. Not sure how he did that but it fixed the problem. my hp6500 gives ink system failure error. they says switch on and off. i did every think and even repalced printhead but the error remains. any hint what could be the issue. after cleaning printhead, the system is able to suck up ink in printhead, so air leakage should not be the case
@303electronics11 ай бұрын
When you remove the printhead, does the error go away? If it does, you may have purchased a faulty printhead. Return it for a refund and buy from a different seller if you purchased on eBay or Amazon.

That memory only holds very little memory, just enough to control the printer and temporarily saves what uou scan or print. It doesn't really hold much info if you are concerned about that, but yes, the memory board is that green board on the bottom of printer.

Help... I need somebody... help!! My HP Officejet e709 printer gives messages of ink cartridge appear to be missing or damaged. Tried everything, got new ink for all colors, cleaned chrome parts etc. but still gives me same message & not printing. What else can I look for. Trying to fix a paper feed gear here. Apparently, my paper feed gear is not moving together with the metal pole. Applying epoxy only worked for a while and it get dislodged again. I saw a similar gear at the scanner so might as well remove that gear on top and move it downwards. But, after watching this video, i think it's time for me to throw this printer away. =D The steps are very complicated and reassembly will be hard from my opinion
