I hope you didn't miss the scenery through the New River Gorge in WV, supposedly the best part of the Cardinal route. Looks like a great journey.

Im not a vegetarian or vegan but the kofta kebab meal is outstanding I woukd eat it every day. Wish i knew where to get it.

It's very good indeed! I wish there was at least one more option without meat though because if you take multiple Amtrak trains then you have just one food option on all trips.
