I adore the Asa Gao color!

Asa gao was one of the first bottles of ink that I purchased when I got into fountain pens. It was one of 3 inks in a set that included Kon peki. I always chose Kon peki over Asa gao until one day I decided to put Asa gao in my light pink Sailor Lecoule. I used it to write in a Filofax notebook. The notebook was the same shade of blue as Asa gao and the Lecoule nib (that I usually disliked) was a joy to use with that ink. That pen, ink and paper combo ended up being one of my favorites. I guess that ink needs a "pretty" pen to jazz up the writing experience. 😀

Ha. I always ink my Lamy 2000 with a fun ink color. A bright pink, a purple, maybe even a green like Alt Goldgrun. Maybe even a turquoise like Diamine Marine. Never a standard blue. 😂 I stray away from standard blue fountain pen inks. If I use a blue (in another pen) it must be a blue with sheen, shimmer or both. Standard blues remind me of ballpoint pens.

Maybe I’m more boring… haha! I’ve got Pilot Iroshizuku Ajisai in my Lamy 2000 (with a medium nib) and I love it. One of my favourite combos.

Thanks for sharing! I tried Ajisai in my Lamy 2000 before I replaced its fine nib with an extra-fine nib. I believe that it was light enough, but I think I needed more excitement than that one, too. Diamine Writer's Blood, as deep as it is, gave me the best experience I've had so far with the pen. I may need to try some inks that are even brighter than I'd normally consider - a hot pink, a bright purple, or a spring green.
