Jay, you probably won’t see this comment, but buy something called bio strip 20. Hear in the UK I bought some to strip all my Tau and repaint. Works amazing on all types of minis. It literally takes no time at all, dip the model or paint the goo on, let sit for 10 minutes and scrub with water and a toothbrush. Will make it all like new again. Hope this helps dude.

Methylated spirits does the same, is way cheaper and works within seconds. Available everywhere too.
@stephenshoolbraid95052 жыл бұрын
@@mrwabbit9576 True, but there is a lot more work that goes into methalted sprits and once it evaporates, you can’t use it again. If you scrub the minis with bio strip over another container you can reuse a couple of times. So you can actually get a much better bang for you buck then methalated sprits. Reusable and not as much time goes in = saves money

@@stephenshoolbraid9505 I mean I've used the same 750ml bottle of meths 4-5 times with about 1/4 of the bottle left. It takes a while to vaporise. It's also nice because unlike most stripping products it actually breaks the paint down rather than just lifting it off the surface so you're not battling against gloopy paint that clogs your toothbrush, the paint turns to powder when you brush it. Comes off much cleaner than things like dettol.

Getting some clay sculpting picks can make cleaning out the crevasses of a mini you're trying to strip a lot easier. They are pretty much available at any hobby/craft store that sells modeling clay. Edit: Also, I agree with using modern bases sizes for the mini's, but It's probably a good idea to make the basing taller than you normally would to try and counteract the general shortness of the older models.

Ultrasonic cleaners are excelent when paired with something else so they support each other, EX: putting a chemical in the bath to help take the paint off instead of just using water, it helps the chemical penetrate and remove the paint by allowing it to more fully get into all the crevices and moving the paint out of the way with the vibrating action.

Hey Jay, coming from an Engineer here, an ultrasonic cleaner will help but not with just water. Use simple green or another plastic friendly paint stripper and let em soak for 1-2 days, then turn it on for a while (time depends a lot on the paint) scrub em and put em back in. It will take a while but will minimize your time scrubbing. If this sounds like a pain, and it is, I found a model paint stripper a while back that is made for stripping models and does it in like an hour even the primer, but I can’t find it, does anyone else know what I’m talking about?

My go to for stripping is methylated spirits. Gets to work in just seconds, tears trough paint easily and turns it into a fine powder, unlike a lot of other cleaning products which will turn the paint into goo and clog up the toothbrush you're using to clean them, rendering it useless. It's available in any hardware store for like £1/$2 a bottle. It's reusable too. With meths I'm usually able to clean a model to an adequate standard in about 2 minutes. Don't really need a hypersonic cleaner. Just expensive and unnecessary.

Legion dosen't have Clone Wars Ahsoka yet? That's weird, why would they start with Fulcrum version? Maybe they didn't want to start with her 1-2 seasons copypasta look, but her second design is pretty iconic ancould actually mirror Asajj, even though Fulcrum is cool. As for Mark V armor, I think it's more of a very speciffic variant that was in production "somewhere" (probably "some" forgeworlds) and was hastly cobled together from it's original (probably unfinished) frame and parts that were available during war. That's why every Mark V has classic bonding studs all over the place, legs, pauldrons, even helmets. They are something like fancy space rivets I guess, holding armor plates together. I wonder if they were also meant out of universe as oversized studs, like in leather jackets, you know because 80s and 90s, bikers, punks and all that jazz. Some beakies already had their studded pauldron in the Rogue Trader I think.
