@Justaguy04203 жыл бұрын
I’m sure they have data logging in their software. Most BMSs do. It uses RS485 so by nature it’s absolutely possible to integrate into your BAS. Cambus modbus bacnet lonworks are all capable of IOT integration. Probably won’t see it on some customer grade software like google home or apple HomeKit but it’s probably already being done.

Thank you very for this interesting movie! Very nice, and well executed system! I do have just 1 well-intentioned comment: Parts that are connected to each other with (screw) connections, through which Voltage or Amperage runs, may possibly cause "amperage corrosion". Think of the white deposit on the plus terminal of an old car battery. If you apply special battery terminal grease between the screw connectors, amperage corrosion can NEVER occur. Amperage corrosion can even, in the long run, lead to short circuits and/or other defects.

Nope, we start out by measuring the voltage of each cell to see how well matched they are or if there are any bad ones, and THEN we start slapping on the buss bars and finish the balancing if they were already close. If they weren't, we send the mismatched ones back until we have a quality set to start.
@SeplosTechnology3 жыл бұрын
@reflected Miles Thanks for your professional advice. In this video, we're expecting to present a way of cell balancing for DIYers, whose cells are with a slight capacity difference. Actually, the cells in the video are Grade A cells pre-matched and grouped with a capacity difference of only ±2mv.

The only issue is the limited output capacity due to the power running through each subsequent pack's cables and internal bus bars. A better solution would be to have each battery in parallel through a very large external bus bar so that the total output is that of each pack added together, and not just one pack. Great setup though for a large capacity low draw system!

At least you did a diagonal connection to the inverter but... If each of these 6 packs is capable of outputting 100A of current then technically the cable nearest the inverter connection could carry 600A in the event of a problem. I can't see the rating of the short daisy chain cables but they look flimsy and certainly not capable of that amperage. I would not be happy to have this setup in my renewable energy building looks like an accident waiting to happen.
