Birds already had evolved by the time the dinosaurs died out, so Triceratops almost certainly outlived their last non-bird ancestor by quite a large margin. The fact appears to be from a clickbait news headline. The actual fact is that triceratops as a species were doing fine before the asteroid impact and therefore died because of it. Considering a Z-test of proportions, the difference in the success ratio between Daniel and his cats is not statically significant. Also, both values are not statistically different from 50%, which is the expected value if one chooses the answer in a random fashion. Hence, neither Daniel nor the cats knew what they were doing.

I have some nitpicking. 1) The Babarusa does not get impaled by its horns, it gets impaled by its tusks. 2) Triceratops was not the last dinosaur standing because a: it went extinct at the same time as many other species of non-avian dinosaurs, and b: some species of dinosaurs survived the mass extinction and have living dinosaur descendants today, namely birds, which are classified as therapod dinosaurs.

4:23 Etymologically speaking, both “platypuses” and “platypodes” are acceptable, due to the root words being of Greek origin (same rules apply to plurals of octopus). However, due to historical naming confusion in speakers of a Latin-influenced language, only the most sticklered of grammarheads will refuse to let it go when some taxonomoron says “platypi,” with most folks either letting it slide, suppressing the annoyance, or being said taxonomoron.
