I've played practically all of the "Star Wars" rule books (WEG D6, RE-UP, D20, and FFG), and I've have always gone back to the D6 rules. Simple, straightforward and easy to learn - either as a player or a GM. I'm always up for a game of D6 Star Wars. And "Hex" is a morally ambiguous Droid ... somehow, I'm not surprised at you creating something like that. Seems to fit your 'style' rather well, from what I've noticed. Some of us *have* played Bounty Hunters in past games and made it work - one of my favorite characters I've ever played was a Bounty Hunter. (Nothing like walking into a room and knowing that people regard you with fear and loathing in equal measure. :) )

This game was a godsend to me in 1987. By that time I was pretty dejected. When I first started gaming some four years earlier, AD&D as literally the only game in my small town, and purchasing was much harder for me as well - having little income as a kid. But things changed and I loved this one so much. The first system I ran - I imported plots from the Han and Lando books, and the comics, and I also "fiddled with" some D&D modules for some fast and loose game play. But as I said, this one kept me in gaming.

"Is this even a real Role Playing Game?" LMAO. Not only is it a Role Playing Game, it is THE Role Playing Game. When it came out I was already playing Toon, Mekton, Ghostbusters, Paranoia, and really disliked D&D, Rolemaster, and all the complicated RPGs. This is one of my all time favorites. Great video. So happy to see people sharing the love of D6.

This series has been so much more than making 31 characters. You have basically done a great summarization and rules synopsis for 31 systems. This is going to have a huge impact on my gaming future. Thank you for that.

Phoenix Command! A beautiful game of gaming. As for SW D6, a great game still being used today.

I love the Star Wars d6 system. I feel that it has some flaws, but given when it came out it's held up really well (I still play it to this day). I'd be really interested in hearing your thoughts on Mythic d6 which is an evolution of the Star Wars d6 system.

I had no idea that Greg and Lynn wrote that system! My mind is blown.

While I had other RPG games that I had while growing up, this was the first RPG game ever gifted to me, and this was the game that I loved and ran. This is a fantastic game, and the first edition might have been the best version. I love the archetype system, and I am so glad that WEG's kept that system for every game since Star Wars. This will always be a nostalgic love.

I litteraly picked up the re-print today. my FLGS had it for its Christmas sale at 50% off. I spent the evening reading the core rule book and I actually fell in love with the game and the simplicity of the basics of the rules.

I love games like this. Games that change the way you think about gaming or anything. One of the reasons I adore L5R is because it makes me think different. I appreciate that in anything.

I like this game, though I think the Introductory Adventure Game is even better. It's lightweight like 1ed but contains some improvements from 2e. Sadly often discarded as a newbie game. If you can get your hands on a box very worth it. Best damn intro box to RPGs I have ever seen.

d6 Star Wars is one of my all time favorite games. I really want to play again sometime. Still detest using character points (XP) to improve my chances...but to be fair...I never ever did.

This is a great game! I love D6 system, including its flaws... I just can't explain why. Maybe the 'beers and pretzels' feelings you mentioned in the Savage World's Flash Gordon RPG video is what I feel towards Star Wars D6. I am extremely biased to my own experience of course, but for me this was always about: Rolling a bunch of D6's, seeing what happens to characters and then just share some good laughs with your friends.

I hate target numbers. I prefer systems where you count successes.

And, I hate counting successes, and like target numbers. There's a reason both kinds of systems exist.
@chaosmeisters67813 жыл бұрын
You can flip to target numbers if you like. There was an offshoot, the DC Roleplaying game and Xena, that used success instead of target numbers. I think it was 456 success? Could have been 3+, it's been a while.
