I put the Polestar 2 into ABRP, from Skøyen to Hemsadal, Solheisen Ski Center, and back again, Start 100% Arrive in Hemsedal with 47%, and back in Skøyen with 3%, so even ABRP agrees, you can do it. Good work, mate.

Good job at all. The Website with claim looks very professional with the link to the "Norweigan" site :-) On the other hand there is a major "failure" in the claim and in the same way in your test. WLTP is not a highway only test. It's a mix of city, highway,... and consumption in the city is usually even lower than on highway. So you'll get a better range than in your test and the claim misses the point. So the claim has hardly a chance to be successful.
@ekhaat3 жыл бұрын
I think the claim was that you CAN drive to Hemsedal and back, and that is what you can.

Impressive power consumption for sure. And yes people need to pick up on the fact that WLTP is nothing more then a number to compare EVs against each other on the other hand. It is a set of circumstances which are exactly the same for all Evs tested so the only thing you can say is that if one car has a higher WLTP number then another that car would bring you further under exactly the same cirucumstances nothing more nothing less. ;-)

Good video. The claim is totally useless. Thankfully you have thrown it away. But on the other hand side I wish Polestar does something more for his customers, updating the software a lot more and bring some technical innovations. Like Tesla did with fast charging speeds maybe or increasing the range optimizing the motor / battery more. 😊👌

Thanks for your comment 👍😊 I think we will see a lot of improvements going forward. Unfortunately Polestar has had issues with the OTA software updates and other timeconsuming bugs and issues which probably have taken focus away from developing the car further. Now that a lot of these issues seems to have been solved, I really hope we will start to see great improvements and innovations in future updates 🤞

We need more apps and a few improvements on UI, but I'm sure all this will come in future updates. Once more and more cars from other brands are available with aaos I'm sure we will see a lot of interesting apps and features being developed.

I’ve actually had some of my lowest consumption numbers with soft winter tires in quite warm weather. And the ski slopes in Hemsesal usually closes in May.. kzbin.info/www/bejne/kH7SlaukYtmclac Polestar didn’t say they guarantee that you _always_ will be able to make it back without charging. As this video shows though, in dry weather, it shouldn’t be a problem from April through October. Ok, it was kind of a stupid example and not the best marketing. On the other hand, who cares. 🤷♂️ EV range varies. That is the disclaimer they should have added.

Going skiing at hemsedal for a day, cooling the cabin and the battery meanwhile and also using a lot more energy due to heating and cold air, there’s no way the polestar gets back to oslo again. Bad marketing.
@Vegard-Driving-Somewhere3 жыл бұрын
Maybe bad marketing, but the text they had on the website was not incorrect. But I would recommend a charging stop if cold winter weather ❄👍
@TheSteinbitt3 жыл бұрын
@@Vegard-Driving-Somewhere No, the text was incorrect, it’s impossible to ski for a whole day during summer, and it’s impossible to get back to oslo during the winter. I mean, who cares, really, but I think corporations should be accountable to a certain degree for their marketing. I don’t support the lawsuit though, maybe a fine would suffice.
@Vegard-Driving-Somewhere3 жыл бұрын
If they had specifically mentioned that you would ski for the whole day I agree, but they didn`t. It could might as well be trail biking from the top of the chairlift that was the goal for the trip which is best done in the summer. They also clearly mentioned that the 470km range was WLTP range which we know is a lab test done in "perfect" conditions. I totally agree marketing should be correct. As a bald guy I hate those ads of products where they promise your hair will magically start growing again 😅

Tesla Model3 long range can go more than 400km at 150km/h also Kona EV(very cheap car which I have now) can go more than 400km at 120km/h. so, above 2 cars matches EPA range without any effort. But when it comes to Polestar2??? not even close to EPA range. Problem is that Polestar2 can go 400km only when its speed is less than 80km/h. This means that Polestar2 can not travel 400km on highway. Polestar2 is much better at quality but too bad when it comes to efficiency. If this is software issue I really hope Volvo resolve this problem by updates because I am waiting for my beautiful Polestar2 next year. I mean Polestar2 must be able to travel about 400km at above 100km/h speed. Or Volvo have to lower the price of this car
