I'm a beginner still finding my way in various areas of video production. Recently, I encountered something for the first time that threw me off a bit. In short, I prefer filming at 29.97 fps (as it seems to give the 'cleanest' look, and panning shots from left to right are smoother). However, here in Europe, if you're filming indoors, you generally need to shoot at 25 fps because of artificial lighting. As a result, I ended up with both 25 and 29.97 fps in a 29.97 fps timeline, which has been a real headache. My quick advice to anyone in Europe is to stick to either 25 or 50 fps to avoid issues like this. Great content by the way - I just subscribed!

Love that! Appreciate the sub! Mixing frame rates like 29.97 & 25 is no fun, but the only way to learn otherwise is to get out there and make the mistakes first hand. Good work! You live and you learn!

Maybe drop a video on recommendations for best editing Mac’s based on budgets ? 😅 wondering if a M1Max will be reliable for the next 5-7years

@@rogerdatfilms the M1 Max will be reasonable for the next 5-7 years. We currently still have editors on the M1 Max. The next 5-7 years is hard to estimate, it really all depends on camera codec development and editing software and how they all 3 work together. Something I always recommend when it comes to computers -> buy the absolute best you can afford and keep it the absolute longest you can afford to. This always ends up being the most cost effective in the long run.

No one every says, "I wish I had a slower CPU. I wish had less memory. I wish I had less disk size." I cheaped nearly 30 years ago using an external network card in a laptop and I was like "I AM SUCH AN IDIOT." :-)
