Hey, I want to buy monitor for my Canon R5C that consumes battery like crazy (4k 50fps - 18 minutes on one battery) so that I power my R5C with vmount battery connected by usb-c. So there is no another usb-c port left. The only way to connect it with monitor is via HDMI cable. My question is when I plug it via HDMI, do I have still options to control camera trough the monitor?
@RossBarnett0213 сағат бұрын
This monitor isn’t compatible with the R5C. Not 100% sure if there is a setup like this that will work with the R5C. Might as well just power them separately from the v-mount. No camera control though

Nice review…I also have the smallrig 99wh 1st version and smallrig vmount adapter and never noticed and decided to test its “locking issues”. And you are kinda right, it feels sturdy but a decent enough push from the bottom keeps knocking it off but if I slap the battery hard enough as one of your reviewers suggested, it seems to stay locked in place. But I still find inconsistent locking even when I slap it in with significant force. So I decided to test with my fxlion vmount battery, and it to didn’t lock securely unless significant force is applied. I recently purchased the Neewer (knockoff) version and tested the same two batteries and they locked perfectly even without any force. So I suspect it’s the smallrig vmount adapter. I did notice a new Kondor blue vmount adapter product and their selling point is , no more vmount batteries easily knocking off.

Just bought 2 x SmallRig VB 99 Pro batteries on B&H for $179 each. The sale just ended but they've been 179, not 249 for quite a long time. Consider Canon's 99 Watt Hour battery for their cine cameras, the BP-A60N is $469 and Sony's similar BP-100U is $445, the SmallRig batteries are a steal. The only way KF Concept gets them so cheap is 1 - they steal other companies designs so they don't have to pay for R&D and 2 - they use inferior materials & battery cells that don't last as long as more expensive batteries.
