@@310Pilot I have a few questions. 1. Is ( I assume you two are married) she a licensed pilot? 2 If yes, I have not seen her as PIC. 3. If not, then she has the ATC/Pilot lingo down pat and appears to have the knowledge. 3A. Is is legal for a person not licensed to us the radio to communicate with ATC/GND?

@@patersonplankrd I'm not 310, but am a long-time viewer and can answer some of this for you: 1. They are married, and she is not a licensed pilot. 2. They've said that she doesn't want to get her PPL, but know enough to get them on the ground in the event of an emergency. 3. They are both air traffic controllers, so that's how she knows the lingo.

Your recent videos brought back a lot of memories for me. I was stationed at NAS Boca Chica in ‘66 right after Navy boot camp , then after NAVY AE school at NAS JAX, I then got stationed at NAS Cecil Field. In ‘69 I married a beautiful New Orleans girl just before my 4 yrs was up. We just had our 50th wedding anniversary. After 31 years as an Air Guard maintainer in Mass, we moved to Southeastern LA just an hour drive from Biloxi. My favorite beaches are Destin, Siesta Key in Sarasota, and Panama City. When we had the F106, we deployed to Tyndall every year. We worked hard, but played hard also! Great videos as always! You guys are the Best!!

I'm both a NAS Cecil Field and NAS Key West brat. When my Dad was stationed at NAS Cecil, it wasn't uncommon for some of us high school kids to take a 3 day weekend to Biloxi for a change of scenery. I've been to the Keesler AFB PX a few times and on one particular visit to that base I fell in love with a Colonel's daughter. Boy was she absoulutely smoking hot, but I was just visiting for the weekend and had to go home to good old VQQ before we could really hit it off. Ah, to go back to 1997 and try again...........Funny part was, I remember there just happened to be some NAS Cecil F-18s on the t-line at Keesler that same Labor Day weekend, too. Maybe they had better luck with the Air Force girls than I did? One can only hope.

Tony Watkins I’ll add a happy and sad note to my story, My best friend in the Navy(Wayne) at Cecil begged me to ride with him to New Orleans one weekend. He was dating a girl from there and he told me he would introduce me to her sister. It was love at first sight. Eventually, both sisters moved to Jacksonville and several months later Wayne and I married both of them and we became brother in laws. We both got out of the Navy at the same time. Wayne and his wife moved to Louisiana and my wife and I moved back to Southeastern Mass. After I retired from the Air Guard, my wife and I moved down to Louisiana to be closer to Wayne and her sister. Two years later, the four of us went to the Destin area for a few days vacation and while we were there Wayne had a massive heart attack and passed away. It’s been 4 years now, and I still think about him every day and that weekend we drove to New Orleans where I met my beautiful wife who is still beautiful 50 years later. One day I was looking through her high school yearbook and saw that she was voted the most attractive in her senior class.

@@copflyer6569 Fair winds and following seas to your friend. Cecil Field was a special place to me (and obviosuly to you, too). I'm still very close to many people that I grew up with on base 20+ years ago. I think the Navy made a big mistake closing that base, but obviously I'm quite biased. Congratulations to you and your wife for 50+ years, that's wonderful. There must be something in the water down on the Gulf Coast, because I still remember how absolutely gorgeous that girl was at Keesler (not to mention the many on the beaches at Biloxi). Jacksonville and Cecil Field had some nice looking women, but nothing like that. Maybe I should get back down to Keesler to visit.......who knows, maybe she's still single......Fly Navy!

I was stationed in Biloxi, Keesler AFB. in '68, tried to get into ATC but ended up in Nav Aid repairman school. Biloxi was just a nice beach at the time. Great vid. Kevin, you guys are fun. Thanks for sharing, Fly safe!

You guys should do an ATC video - showing what its like in that environment - during my private training we toured the tower at a local D airport - very interesting - great for pilots who have never seen it from ATC - a center control room would be very cool too

That opening B roll montage (well, it had Jamie in a bikini, so it's A roll footage) of the boats and docks and homes on the intercoastal is such a fun vibe and lifestyle. I spent a full year after my divorce living on a Carver 50' cruiser just to clear my head and reset my life. Best thing I have ever done. When dinner is the snapper you caught two hours earlier, you are living life like a boss!

BTW, My Dad played poker with Doolittle, Jimmie Stewart, and his radio operator when he was in recovery after being repatriated as a POW during WWII. He also went fishing with then General Doolittle in King Salmon, AK off a float plane in 1958-59. I went to King Salmon in 2003 and visited where they took off from. It was amazing. Thanks for reading my rambling memories.
