Dinner, Volleyball and Skydiving

We fly with the teenagers to Rochelle, Illinois (RPJ) for dinner at the Flight Deck Bar and Grill. While there we played a bit of sand volleyball and got to watch the skydiving up close. During the flight home, Jenaye got her first bit of Cessna 310 stick time.

After I got married and had children (4) I thought now we'll have a few more aviators in the family but no such luck. Now at 74 I'm still the only pilot in the family. Blessed is the man whose family loves flying.

Thank you for your channel. I am 77 years old and a US Army Veteran. I learned to fly in the Chicagoland area and as a young pilot, I used to shuttle light planes all over that area for a flying club so that the right plane was in the right place for members. My haunts were DuPage, Aurora, Lewis Lockport, Clow, Gary, and Mitchell field which was near Lombard. Your travels really take me back all. Now days, I have to be happy with my X-Plane simulator in my basement. Keep up the good videos!

310 Pilot LOL! I bet that’s right ! I started to suggest that you upgrade your stockpile of available “Boy-b-Gone” weapons. These should range from Louisville Slugger, to a .30cal. belt-fed. That should discourage “some” of the sniffing around. As pretty as she is, I doubt anything is 100%. Have you considered an electric fence and perimeter sensors ? (works for Area 51) lol! Glad we had a son and didn’t have that worry.

I do believe another much-needed female aviator is hatched. Jenaye, beg for as much time at the controls as you can. BTW, back in the early 70's I had to drive from Aurora to Rochelle to pick up my dad who had to land his Twin Comanche there during a late-winter ice storm. The drive was miserable. I can just imagine what flying must have been that day. Looking forward to your videos.

My wife didn't do radio traffic, but she enjoyed taking the controls and actually flying the plane. She really shined in spotting aircraft, airport beacons, points of interest.. Flying into DAL or ADS she was a great extra pair of eyes. Usually flew a C172, C177RG or C210.

Kevin you have such a beautiful family! Mini me and Jaime could pass off as twins! They look so much alike! On another note, your kids will later on in life be thankful and cherish all the times that they went flying with you. Its so good to keep the family tradition alive. As you taught your daughter how to fly. My dad did the same with me. Cept, he would love to trim the plane to where I had to fight to keep it from going all over the place. Then sit back and tease me. Then take the controls and be a show off about it. Overall, its something now that I cherish even more of all the times I went flying with my dad. Your son reminds me of my son who is now in his mid 20's. Will fall asleep in any moving vehicle. We just flew a Cherokee from Boise to McCall with my other son, who has his pilots license (maybe 80 hours) for the first time. He fell asleep on that flight as well, I couldn't believe it.
