I had the pleasure of being at this. We took a long lunch, and people looked at us funny from the muddy shoes. They watered down the grass at Hospitality Point for dust control. Fucking talented group of guys to this day.

Yep, I was there too. This was the second time I saw them, the first was at Soma with Korn as the opener. Such fond memories.

I've been to ozzfest, seen Slipknot, seen several heavy bands... craziest pit I've EVER been in? The first few songs of a 311 show in Toledo, Ohio, in like 2001. It was un-fucking-real.

I haven't been to a show recently but I've seen them about 7 times in the late 90's up to 2002. The energy and presence is off the chart. You have to be their to feel it. I've seen a lot of great bands in my day and none have come close to these guys. The best way to describe their live show, is imagine the arrival of a mothership.

I love when the guitar cuts out for a second. It sounded better ! It revealed a window into how tight and good the band is. That part couldn't have happened at a better part in the song too. You get the drums, that slappin bass, incredible vocals and it just works! Its a great fucking song and nothing can stop it haha! 😂

Great catch on that one! It’s been a classic 311 deep cut blooper reel & sickest jams for decades.

I am 4 years older than you but its not like being 6 made me any more mature or into a band like 311 lol. I looked up every concert they had ever done up to the date I was looking and saw they played a set at the largest park in my city and I think it was free admission, in like 1997 or 1998. Either way I was mad it happened when I was only 7 or 8, and I don't care if it would have only been a short set of 5-6 songs it would have been awesome to see them in a park on a nice day in their prime.

For me, Transistor was the last good 311 album. After that, they changed and got softer and different. Tim, P-nut and Chad are so fucking talented, but none of it ever comes out anymore. It's sort of like how Metallica changed after the Black Album. Is it arthritis, or what?

It's sort of like how Metallica changed after the Black Album. Is it arthritis, or what? reply: The 99 album - SOundsytem was still good. Their best all time riff Freeze Time is on that album and when I heard them do that live in 2007 it was heavier than Led Zeppelin in their prime. But you're right, once the 2000s came, they got gayer and gayer to where they are now: a new album out a month ago, which I havent even wanted to hear after hearing the first single which is a Taylor Swift - Katy perry sounding fag song. From this performance to taylor swift fag music - that has been their arc.

The last one I was really into was Evolver. After that, they fell off my radar. I still see them play live all the time, but I can't stand most of the newer stuff. Too much reggae for me.
