When the time comes you can replace that windlass remote with a cheap Amazon wireless 4x4 winch remote.

@@SailingBlownAway Thank you very much, I'll keep this link in the right place even if it's not in my country. The idea and the description are more important. At $26, it may not be great quality, but if it does the job, so much the better. Note that you have to connect it to the solenoid, there's no power relay inside (fortunately). If you take care to insulate the connections, it should be fine. Your remote control, it can be anything from false contacts in the buttons to (and I've just experienced this) the cable that ends up breaking internally. It's a vicious fault, one minute it works, the next it doesn't. Best regards, Philippe Edit : I've found same product in France for same price.
