It didn't blow up, previous owners NEVER changed the oil. tons of sludge in the engine. It had low oil pressure at idle when warmed up, but ran perfectly, never burn any oil or anything!

The machine shop installed all those plugs on the inside of the block. I wouldn't have even known about them otherwise! I just kept everything VERY clean all through the rebuild. I also had LOTS of help with it. A second set of eyes can find mistakes that you won't see!

What is that 3/4" hole for at 9:16 and does it need to be plugged? I've got a 3.9L LA V6...same two holes on drivers side by the oil pan, rear one has a brass plug, front one is open. Any help would be appreciated!! :)

i was wonder price as well. cuz i got a 318 in a 86 ram i'm gonna rebuild. it'll be my first rebuild ever and i'm lookin into average prices. i know it'll cost out the butt for a shop to do it so i was gonna have 1 of my buds help me out

I think the back up light switch is on the transmission. May be part of the "neutral safety switch" that prevents starting unless in Neutral or park. Look at a wiring diagram for the car for clues too.

the displacement is cast into the block, it's usually at the end of the casting number i think

@curtknows101 ok it had good oil prees at start up but as soon as it gets warm it goes all the way to 0 if u revit it goes up but then right back down again i thnk its bleading internaly IE the mains a beat to hell the crank isn't balenced this guy ground all the flashing off my crank b4 it was instaled i tool him not to but he did it any way and i had no other so i had to use it =\

The music or tune at the end of this video,the test drive,the tune is called MASHI the group was from TACOMA Wa. THE WAILERS they where what we called back in the day a garage band,they wrote a lot of their own songs like this one. Their big hit was called TALE COOL ONE and also on Am. Bandstand. Late 50's to early 60's around the Pacific North West..

1964 charger /1966 charger yup some mopars are a trip the slant six always remember be careful in the rain if you have one. the distributor cap if it gets wet you are in trouble /most mopars have the double switch ignition. were you can turn it over and take the key out while it's running. /yup my unk shelton Robert mclemore had a 1980 challenger /5/or six speed. a 1974 Chrysler Newportbrougham man that car was a beast / and some others to / granddaddy Joseph Robert mclemore had a 1968 Bonneville /true masterpiece /1974 Ltd to. mom had a 1968 cutlass. /I had my self a 1990 lumina 3.1 /and a 1999 3.1 lumina smooth cars Chevy needs to bring them back. /and the trailblazers to / and the caprice to.
