What’s really nice about this, is not the skill, productivity and motivation - it’s the working together as a family.😀👍⛵️

Wow my old GPS is still mounted in the cockpit bulkhead. And the jury rigged autopilot blocks are still under the cock pit seats. LOL Amazing that stuff is still on the boat after all of these years.
@Camarasailing

It’s still mounted but is it working?!? Got a different GPS but haven’t gotten around to mounting it yet 😉 as for the autopilot, that’s just how it’s been for all the owners after you I guess. Crazy hey but sometimes those temporary solutions work so well they become permanent haha

@@Camarasailing yeah that was a good GPS model at the time, real simple user interface and inexpensive. It wasn't meant to be panel mounted (came with a bracket) but when I got the boat there was an old racing computer / knot meter or something that had been mounted there and taken out and the GPS fit more-or-less so I just 5200'd it into the hole and it worked great. Made a little sun cover for it too.

Thank you 😊 So many people looking to buy boats. Just need to make sure they are advertising on all the big sites like yacht world, yachthub etc. I’m sure it won’t take long for someone to buy it. More and more people buying 45ft+ these days!

What a please it is to watch a Master Yatch Build do the repairs. Especially the Holes in the Hull. We have a Piver Yacht I have to do some similar repairs to and this has answered a few questions for me on how to do my own repairs on a Brind Hull section. One question I have, What type of Glue are you using? It looks very Chunky and seems to have a long working time before it goes off. Kiaora.
@Camarasailing
@Camarasailing Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much ☺️ For any glue applications we use 413 microfibres mixed into the epoxy and for any fairing application 417 microballoons. You can extend your working time by using a slow hardener and make sure you spread the glue out in your mixing container. If it’s in a thick layer it goes off quicker than if it’s spread out 😉

Sanding under the boat with no mask - and glassing in those tubes without gloves? I hope you are still around to enjoy this boat in the water.

Love the boat and the work you are doing, but please protect yourself from the epoxy particulate that you are actively ingesting. Epoxy poisoning is a slow process, not to mention the microfibers that can cause serious respiratory damage. Even in the eighties we were wearing silly paper masks.
@Camarasailing
@Camarasailing Жыл бұрын
We hear you. We are pretty slack, especially when we work outside. We do use vacuum extraction on all the sanders but I’m not trying to make excuses, like I said we are pretty slack and need to get better at it 😉 We just always get carried away getting the job done instead of putting our gear on…

@@Camarasailing and as a yachtie myself, I understand. But remember that it is the health of you and your family that you are damaging. Get some PPE and save your health. Seriously.

@@Camarasailing are you not concerned you might get an allergy to epoxy? Not uncommon I understand
@Camarasailing
@Camarasailing Жыл бұрын
@@markthomasson5077 I admit we have been slack using our masks etc when we are working outside, but we always have our respirator and full face masks on when we are in confined spaces/inside like when we did the rebuild of our own boat there was no way we could have done all that grinding and glass work or the painting without masks etc.

What you do to your own bodies is your ‘problem’. But apparently you are fine dumping all that toxic crap and dust in the ‘environment’. Sooo 80ties.
