A nutty cone dropping in to spend some time with you guys 🌲 I really enjoyed this vid and time with you guys. Jenna, I loved it when you said "this thing is a BEAST" and then smiled. Green is a nice color on you, the hat with the green knit cover and your hair - wow! A great shot was 6:53 - 6:57 the highlighting of your eyes. I felt so bad as you related to the difficulites and challenges of the morning and it was not okay, I could see the distress on your face. But as Ted said you'd been on the struggle buss but you were better now, the weight sure lifted. Nothing makes things better than circling the wagons in prayer and letting God help. Oreos are always a nice added touch also 😉 It was nice seeing all the dogs, cat and Finley and CJ involved. That was definitely a group effort moving those beams and milling the beams really turned out great. In the scene where Finley appeared to slip off the tree as she was standing on it, I wasn't sure if that actually happened of if she was following in Ted footsteps and clowning around. It was funny that toward the end I was thinking to myself that Ted hadn't done any clowning around, and then ... as he carried the ladder he stepped on the sled hahah. I laughed in surprise and it also took you off guard as well from your expression. He is such a character. Nice job editing all the footage into a very enjoyable piece Jenna. I know it took a lot of time and effort and I appreciate it very much. Have a great week ahead and please be safe as you are working with those heavy beams 🌲 . I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Larry, Central Valley, Ca.

We are so thankful for the kids being willing to help us! It was hard work, but it was also funny and we had fun doing it. Haha Finley ACTUALLY did slip off the beam! It was really slippery when it as debarked! And I assure, you, Ted will never NOT be clowning around! Thanks for the kind words on the editing, too! I really appreciate it! We'll always take all the prayers we can get. Ted and I hope you have a great week, Larry! See ya soon! 🌲

From my experience, doing stuff like this, it’s better to cut them down in fall and giving them a scab, which is basically cutting through the bark like a nice chunk through the bark, and then letting them sit until midwinter, and then peeling them or even cutting them in spring and waiting until winter makes it easier to peel the bark. Just a tip for next time when you do this because when you do it too early, that’s when you run into these issues. Also, they have attachments that you can put onto your grinder to do this instead of using those debarkers. 17:17
@TheLiFeInPines9 ай бұрын
Good to know! That makes a lot of sense. Unfortunately we don’t have the time to let them sit…. Hopefully it won’t be too bad for the next ones we have to do! We will have to look into those grinder attachments too! We hope you have a great week! 🌲 😊

When you're rolling a long log like that, chock the end opposite the one you're working. You can also mill the sides so it doesn't roll and is lighter. You may want to look up log skidders. They're a two wheel trailer that lifts one end of the log so you can drag it. Uses a come a long to lift so you don't have to manage the whole family to make it work.
