What happens if it’s a very large schedule and you have predecessors from all over different parts of the WBS? Like P6 can you not see all of the predecessors and successors for one activity and their start and finish dates, float/slack presented to you in one view rather than scrolling all over?

Hello, Thank you for your question. Indeed you can filter on selected tasks to isolate predecessors and successors. What example files do you have to share with me?

How do you filter those activities only in Task Path?

Hello, Thank you for your question. If I reformulate, your selected a task and you just want to see those in task path?

Simon, what can I do when Project refuses to allow me to enter any predecessors?
@vision6D4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question. When I have a difficult time with MS Project, I make a copy of the project file and I start to troubleshoot the situation. In your case I would insert a dummy task before or after the ones giving me an issue, insert other tasks that would also be the predecessor and try to establish the relation. This should help you understand what is the issue. Without being in front of a situation, it is very difficult to see a solution. Greetings from Geneva.

Hi Christian, nice explanation. However a quick question: When in an Activity, has more than a Driving Predecessor, which one should I choose to be part of the Driving Path?
@vision6D3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question. Quickly out of my head I would say both. What do you think?
@heliojcosta3 жыл бұрын
@@vision6D Well, so far I've been thinking the same way, but not sure I'm right. Actually having for instance 2 driving predecessors, from that point going backwards driving paths will be different according to the chosen predecessor. Pls, let me know your thoughts

@@heliojcosta Yes I agree with you.

can you filter only activities with "task path"?

Thank you for your question. If I reformulate your questions, you would like to see the tasks that relate to an other task? What do you think of this reformulation?

CAN I CHOOSE THE COLOR OF THE HIGHLIGHT?
@vision6D11 ай бұрын
Thank you for your question. Yes you can change the highlights color. To change the highlight color in MS Project for various elements such as tasks, text, or backgrounds, you would typically use the "Text Styles" or "Bar Styles" options, depending on what exactly you're aiming to highlight. Greetings from Geneva.

What happens if you roll up tasks? will the path still be visible?
@vision6D4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question. Did you try it? Subscribing helps me grow the channel. Greetings from Geneva.
@felipebarrera30604 жыл бұрын
@@vision6D Subscribed. The path become invisible when rolling up. I managed to still show the subtasks in the rolled up summary task with some format options, but couldnt figure out to show the path.
@vision6D4 жыл бұрын
@@felipebarrera3060 Good you tested it, so did I. You cannot see them. Do we agree that there are no links on your summary tasks in your case? Is this the example I gave?
@felipebarrera30604 жыл бұрын
@@vision6D there are certainly links, which are shown with no problems when the summary task is expanded to show subtasks, however, the rolled up options seems to be quite limited, unless you start changing the values on the bar styles options
