Similar to this in a way, but nations unrecognised by FIFA. CONIFA has ran a few 'world cups' and it would be good to see if anyone out there had created a database with nations such as: Cornwall, Chagos, Tamil, Koreans in Japan, Sardinia, Kuskatan, Hawai'i and the rest. It would be fun to play with these nations and see if you could actually get a nation to be competitive with official FIFA national teams or whether you max out around the likes of the Virgin Islands and San Marino (given any decent player would surely represent a recognised national team)

It would be such a cool idea to do, but sadly those nations recognised by CONIFA aren't in Football manager, unless we went to an extraordinarily length to make a full database

I expected either Curaçao or the Faroe Islands to win it as well, it was a big surprise and to be fair both of them were FM'd in the semis. Klaemint Olsen is actually a decent player, so I'm not surprised he was the top scorer. He has scored over 220 goals for NSÍ Runavík in real life and in FM he usually carries them during the first season, maybe two if some club from Denmark or the likes doesn't poach him, and then they fall off once he retires.

Absolutely love stuff like this. Could run this a few times and be fascinated by it every time. I think the obvious next one would be to do the bottem 32 countries based on fifa rank. Also shoutout to Mattia Stefanelli from San Marino who scored 4 goals in 4 sub appearances. So close to being the top scorer.

Curacao-Aruba is like England-Scotland…they both share a lot of common history, but Curacao is the big brother sizewise and footballwise whereas Aruba has the most tourists and therefore probably the better economy. But that game would be a real tight one cause they’re actually real life rivals.

Klæmint Olsen became the first player to score against Denmark in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, in the ninth game of qualification. Quality striker. Joel Felix is a regular starter for Silkeborg, who are currently 4th in the Danish Superliga. He hasn't declared for Saint Lucia in real life, and has represented Denmark at U19 level. Maybe he'll declare for Saint Lucia at some point.

Kiribati is pronounced “Kiribass” as it’s how the “ti” sound in their language is said… I believe it’s because they don’t use the letter “s” in the language. But you’ll have to check that. But yeah… just a heads up for next time

We've actually run several competitions at the same time and they all need different host nations. I believe they're chosen at random from the existing pool of World Cup host nations in the game, but other hosts of competitions include England, France and Chile!

Curaçao is still an overseas territory which is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. So anyone who is born on curaçao automatically gains Dutch citizenship, that's why :P

Kinda late but Curacao was the Netherland Antilles. The island chain kinda broke up as some wanted closer ties to the Netherlands I think. Normally "new" nations get bigger like East Germany merging with West Germany. They actually got smaller.

In FM22 I manage Stranraer and signed a defensive midfielder called Rohan Ince who keeps getting international call-ups for Montserrat. I'm surprised not to see them represented!

In the end, I knew St Lucia was going to win because Aruba was in group F and that group curse is absolutely real

I realy love this. I suggest doing one but with every team that has qualified for a WC, but have missed the previous 3 World Cups (Qatar, Russia, and Brazil). I made the calculation and it gives exactly 32 teams that haven't qualified since 2010.

Idea, all the worst teams that could all have technically qualified. I.e. a World Cup in which all the qualification spots are filled with teams who wouldn’t get through their qualifiers, but who technically all could. So it would be the same amount of uefa teams as normal, just the ones that finished bottom of their groups. Instead of AFC giants like Australia and Japan, it would be terrible Asian teams like Bhutan and Sri Lanka. Not necessarily small populations, just really bad teams

a few considerations: -Sint Maarten, Saint Martin, Kiribati, Tuvalu, Northern Mariana and Micronesia are not members of FIFA, so they cannot qualify for a WC, although they participate in their regions' competitions. +Montserrat, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Iceland (xd), Bahamas, Maldives are part of FIFA and could have been elegible instead

@@ChesterRGC type "the other final" into KZbin.. theirs a really good documentary on us playing Bhutan who at the time was ranked second to last while we were ranked last place.. it happened in 2002 world cup final so while Germany and Brazil 2 top teams played we played Bhutan which at the time was the 2 bottom teams in "the other final" lol.. gives alot of information about the volcanic eruption that destroyed half the island and other cool info.. happy to say latest rankings we are currently 179 and climbing 🥰🥰

Ironically the Sao Tomé pronunciation was ok, but Some of the others were rough, particularly Grenada. Gren-ah-da is in Spain, the Caribbean nation is Gren-A-da
