I was in Spain three years ago, and I asked a local woman for directions after explaining I was English but understood some Spanish, and she spoke like this really slow, funny looking back

I have been studying Spanish for years but in honesty have not attained much. In Spain I try and use Spanish but every time I get answered in English.

Hearing it so slow does not train your hear to understand how people really speak and I think it is one reason why it is so hard for people who can test advanced on placement tests but can not understand or be understood in real life trying to put in practice what they learned.

Not a fan of the slow pronunciation. KZbin allows you to slow down audio by clicking on the 3 dots and changing "playback speed". Plus, hearing it so slow trains the ear to think this is natural spoken Spanish..and it not used in real life..unless the person thinks you are a super basic Spanish speaker, deaf, old or stupid! Plus..it is annoying!! But I love the sentences you use to show the word or phrase in context!
