Hi Johnathan, Thanks for the video! It is definitely helpful. I do have a question though. - When you are applying for 2nd job, when they ask for references what did you do or how did you handle it? - When you are filling out the tax forms such as W4 and other forms, how did you fill that out? I believe there’s a question saying “Do you have a 2nd job?” Btw, Can we connect on LinkedIn? Can you also talk about your sales job? What kind of sales more details? Thank you, -T

Oh I have designed the software that each business runs off of. So I designed everything to be run off of various dashboards from my phone/watch. lots of alexa watch macros lol. But I can travel for my actual IT job. And lol no lie like in the backend programming of my various SaaS/PaaS if any statistical outliers or redflags pop up I get a toast pushed to my watch to draw my attention. funny.. That little list of what our 4 person clan does. All that is just getting started. Moving in the shadows, networking, coordinating to blitz & disrupt the fuck out of 4 industries. Excited... ugh back to consulting.

Sometimes you may have to lower your standards. If you can’t get a job anywhere then your main focus is money and that may be the problem. Walmart, McDonalds etc. are always hiring. Something is better than nothing until you find better. Take certifications wherever you find interest. Build your resume up. There’s no way anyone can’t find a job these days. Remember this quote. @ddavis8988
@ddavis8988 2 жыл бұрын
@@hiding_my_name from my experience, it depends on the company. For example they're both in different time zones and I have the liberty to create my own schedule with both. To the point that during the average day the jobs only cross 2 hours during the day. Some jobs don't care as long as the work gets done and their internal information is not compromised. Other jobs, they put it in the contract that can't work for other co.panies or other companies in the same industry. I had a job that wanted me to sign a contract that stated while working for them you couldn't work any other job or make any type of investment in other co.apnies in the same I dusty. And after you left the co.pany, you couldn't work for a company in the same industry for 24 months. And you could not buy or receive stock in companies within the the industry. And if they find out you do they can fire you immediately and possibly go after you legally. So it really depends on the company. That's why reading the contracts are paramount.

A few months back, I came off 6 months of two jobs, was pulling in over 400k. Took a few weeks off from overemployed, and just had a single job. Was funny, felt like I was unemployed working a single ~15 hr/week gig. Last month, I started a new job 2 and have a job 3 starting in the next month, will be at 615k living in a low-tax state in the midwest. One key is stack PTO and take days off when you have one of your jobs surging. Another key is always take the health insurance, because you never know when something will end, and you want to make sure you have benefits. Final suggestion - have a plan. If you get into the overemployed life, know why you are and when you will exit. It's very easy to grow into your new double or triple salary and end up perpetually stuck. Have a plan, set a timeline, get in, get what you want, gracefully exit. Employees now have the upper hand, but that will end one day. When you get fired or quit your job 2 or job 3, try to look sad, and think of how terrible it would be if that was your only gig (and you didn't stack cash).

Married to a hardworking wife with two beautiful children. We are both nurses. Being essential workers during the pandemic and until now, we are facing a big crisis in our workplace due to workforce burnout due to staff shortage. Yes, it’s really happening. Workers are moving away from the Bay area because of the ridiculous prices of homes and rent here. We have been both passionate about our hospital services both in the clinical and surgical world that it impacts our time with our children and we face a big challenge to care for our little ones. We work different shifts just to accommodate care for both our children which is taking a toll to both our physical and mental health. This is a great breakdown. I can definitely vouch on this. Never let the left hand know what the right hand is doing. That includes your clients. Its none of either clients business to know about one another. In the contractor world double or even triple dipping is not out of the norm even though its frowned upon with non-compete agreements. It is certainly not easy, juggling can get crazy at times with deadlines, upgrades, go-lives, etc all crossing at the same time. Being on two or even three meetings at once is brutal. The key, imo, is to know your niche inside and out. That way you know what look for in clients/contracts. It mentally puts you in a better position to ask the RIGHT questions in interviews about the team, scrum master, product owner, overall scope, defined work, etc. What Im getting to is, are they going to crawl up your ass if you dont answer an IM/email within 5, 10, or even 20 minutes...yes ive had these people lol. So glad you touched on the thinking of "do I really need a second job/contract." This hit me after about 7 months the first time. Working two six figure jobs opens a lot of financial opportunities, especially if you live below your means. However the burnout is real and despite the money it will hit you eventually.

>even though its frowned upon with non-compete agreements Those agreements are designed to stop you from taking the middle man's client away from them, not stop you from taking another client elsewhere. They probably don't like it. But there's nothing in the contracts (yet) that say you can't. I've even seen a few contracts that come right out and say you can.

Crazy, in 2020 I left a job as a software engineer they hired me back as a contractor and I have another full time job. I laughed so hard about having meetings for both jobs at the same time. I think about quiting one of the jobs all the time as I get burnout but the money is too good to pass up, I've accumulated some savings and getting to the point where I'd like to put it to work rather than loose value through inflation

Just started doing this over the last few months with remote tech roles. Both are completely different fields but are specialized enough that both earn me a 6 digit salary, but the workload is thankfully very light, as this isn't work that is meant to be rushed. So far so good, but my life has completely started changing and within just a few months, I have made huge strides in buying the things I want and paying off loads of debt from my past. I am going to keep it going for as long as I can because it just makes sense, and I finally feel like I have financial freedom.
